Re: Going out with someone who has a kid
Yes and yes.
I don't see what the problem would be. They might be a little less footloose and fancy free, but that could be said about people with certain types of jobs, etc.

Re: Going out with someone who has a kid
I dunno, you'd be all like "The Evil Step Dad" and no matter how nice you were, buying him/her presents, taking them to the zoo, etc... they'd still resent you for boning their mother.
Plus your bird would have to spend all her time & energy on looking after the little 'un and not you! That would suck.

Re: Going out with someone who has a kid
Depends how old the kid is.
It's highly unlikely I'd go out with someone who'd have a teenage kid (at least, now). Younger kids don't really give a shit (usually) and they'll like anyone who is cool to them. My mum was a childminder when I was growing up, and kids are very easy to get on with.
And I don't want a woman to "look after me" thanks.
I had a very very brief encounter with a woman who had two kids (4 and 6 I think they were) and that aspect of things never bothered me.

Re: Going out with someone who has a kid
This thread is crying out for a Dace joke.
But I'm not the one to do it <3
Yeah, I'd not have a problem with a woman who has a kid. My ex-girlfriend used to look after her little brother a lot, as her mum had depression, and her dad was a full-time farmer. I liked looking after him, it was kind of fun playing the father role. But yeah, as Dante said - a teenage kid would be different. Mainly because the age difference wouldn't be that much.

to me it looks like you're either not mature enough to realise it doesn't matter, or you're too concerned with what other people might think

i think the main problem with going out with someone who has a kid is always coming second. And some people wont be able to deal with that.

I don't know about what sick twisted relationship you were involved in but if I went out with a woman with a child I'd probably object to the kid getting off before I did.

I don't see how that shows that I care about what other people think
And about the maturity thing, I decline to comment.

Do you resent your dad for boning your mum?

Re: Going out with someone who has a kid
But young kids don't really resent that much, they don't really understand (in my experience).
And I don't think that many people from this forum will be going with people who have teenage kids.

I wouldn't mind so much if she had teenage daughters.

Yes.
Yes.
But only if it doesn't turn long-term and marriage & all.

Dash the child's head against the rocks, then mount your chosen female in celebration.
