Today I learnt a useful lesson...
Having 32GB or more on the desktop makes explorer crash and screw everything up when you log off. I learnt this through a process of elimination after trying to figure out why, every time I logged off, explorer crashed and screwed everything up. Having reduced the contents of my desktop to a mere 26.4GB, explorer no longer crashes and screws everything up when I log off.
So I guess what I'm saying here is: if you have a lot of stuff on your desktop, don't let it get over 32GB or explorer will crash and screw everything up when you log off.
