This would make the Game much more interesting than having x- small alliances with a core of 15 ppl or something. Apart from that, good luck for the coming rnds

Its a myth though that mergers mean more success. In 90% of cases if you merge you end up destroying both alliances. Mergings not something that should be done on a whim or simply to get more members BUT because the merger is right for both groups.
For starters a merger shouldn't just compund any problems the alliance is having, if your both having major problems with coverage during Euro Nights then merging isnt going to really help as more members also means more incoming so more pressure during problem periods is heaped on you.
Then you need an alliance with a compatable attitude. There would be no point example F-Crew Merging with lets say 1up. We would clash and things would be pretty bad. If your attitudes and policy are fairly close your struggle to find a middle ground
Your also going to need to find an alliance that score and history wise isnt too different to you. In mergers ive witnessed one of the main problems is that either a) One set of members think they are better and put the other set down or b) one set of HC's think they are better and undermine the other set.
The moral to what I'm saying is you shouldnt be merging with any kind of idea of it helping your rank. You want to be merging because it makes your alliance more efficient and a better place to be. You shouldnt expect a sudden rise in rank and you should expect some tough times getting things running smoothly. If you take your time to find the right merge and your willing to put some effort it it can be great for your alliance, otherwise it can be a disaster.
Also mergers now cant be done automatically and the new scoring system means manual mergers mean a loss in score. Hopefully this will cause alliances thinking of merging to take more thought and those that do will produce good quality alliances that work well rather than the poor, quick rank gain ones
