i'd support this - it kinda feels like we're rushing into this round a bit fast compared to previous gaps

Im starting to get the feeling the community Cant be happy either way of the decision. Reason why a round was started so soon was becuase last time you all moaned it was a to longer gap in between. Please make up your minds. Glad im not a PA Team member.

There's no time that will suit anyone. A lot of people have free time in the holidays - myself included. I'm afraid we'll keep the current schedule

When is eastern? Did I miss a new holiday being added to the calendar?
Also if anyone would wish to donate me a million pound sterling I would be happy to have the round start at any time pa team like.

It was once that there was a gap of like 6 weeks or something. I personally would say 3 weeks is ok.
Oh and for the record: I wouldnt like the round taking place easter because I have a some sort of RL and that means also family meetings at easter

Re: Eastern
What exactly is "eastern"?
Is this just another word for the Easter holiday?
Or is this a seperate tradition all together?
Please educate me.
p.s.: I find it much easier to execute tick plans during the holidays, as you just need 30 seconds in the span of 1 hour to start research/cons.

Next time set up some start times and let the community vote?
Ofc one given time wont suit all, but I think starting middle of eastern is not very populare, and thats what most think - or so I feel.
Personally its no biggie, cept from the fact that Sjor my lover boy and escort hoe will loose a few ticks, hence have less to escort me with <3

it is if u commited to play hardcore.
also u gather a lot of intel within these days.
Its not all about the first 3 days but its a lot depending on it

Re: Eastern
if you're committed to play hardcore, then you arent going to let something like family being over stop you from logging in and starting that res/const now would you :P
any intel you get before anyone is able to launch fleets is from those who dont care about their secrecy, or those who arent very good at it - so unlikely to catch many people in the upper echelon of alliances
Personally, i dont care about the date the round starts but they cant really change it now, given the dates have been fixed for a while and there was plenty of time for everyone to know them

Reading this thread, most posters (on this thread) seem to support his request. Not that it matters because apoc already said no ...

imo if they wanted to change the date then they should have made this thread as soon as the dates were announced. Its too far along the schedule for such drastic changes to be made now

It just means Jolt have to wait longer for their money. No offense, but changing the end dates is easy and it's just a matter of how much Jolt/PA Team wants to listen to their customers.

not necessarily.
credits can still be bought at any point up until the ticks start, and at any point afterwards. they dont have to get them minutes before
Also, since its been announced so long ago, its quite concievable that there are paying customers who have based their rl plans around those dates - changing them now would mess things up for them too.
Its not about listening ( or alleged lack of ) to people, its about not changing things after so much time for anyone to raise this point beforehand.
Its last minute now, and as such - tough

Lol, but changing things midround because of popular demand has been done in the past, but asking for changes pre-round with a timeframe of 9 days is too much to ask ...
It does make sence

I think it's a general feeling that lives with the current PA community that r17 is starting to quickly after r16. This isn't the first thread where this "issue" has been brought up, by various players, and nor will it be the last one.
Nobody stops players to reply to this thread saying they don't support the delay of the start of r17.

Re: Eastern
It would be easier for most of the people who want to spend time with their family to do it in the Easter holiday. Not everyone have lives that revolve around the game to such an extent that they can postpone their real life to fit in with it
Having some breathing space in the holidays can't be bad. But if this is what fits better for the admins... I'm not playing though, so maybe my opinion doesn't count.

I disagree, there are more people then just Brits playing this game. Yes I know this ain't gonna make me win the popularity contest.
Also if we delay this, next we will be delaying it for Yom Kippoer and god knows what other holidays there are in other countries.

If you start doing it for one group of people then you must do it for all, or you might be seen as discriminating a certain group.
Keep the start time as it is. Less complicated and the fun starts sooner!
