Valentine's Day
So what are all you lovely people doing/not doing for it?
I'm not really that keen on Valentine's Day - I don't really understand it.
Is it a day to show love to someone you care about?
Or is it a day to try and get a date, if only for one day in a year?
Or is it just an excuse to be romantic and loving with your other half?
OR is it just a day for restaurants, florists and cardmakers to get a bit of money?
Anyway, I don't know what I'll be doing. I've been seeing a lot more of my ex (that I broke up with 3 weeks ago), so we might be doing something. Nothing big (if at all) - but I'll send her a card and perhaps cook her dinner. Although I haven't asked her yet properly.

Re: Valentine's Day
I've just made a card for this hottie that's sent me a card & chocolates although unexpected! I suck at poems so I'm tempted to write a short lil poem in gold on the back & when she returns from holiday, shower her bed in white rose petals, Thorntons chocolates and a wee teddy bear with the help of her sister

I've got a crappy webcam and this card for my gf. I just need something more for the inside. And good words.
The pic behind the heart-shaped hole is actually this nice rose.
I also plan to get her a small heart-shaped box of choclates...

Since it had no effect, I don't care. Besides, if tomorrow ends with mad bunny sex, I'll be far too busy to think about this retard's crappy repping.

Same here Nonentity - jealous buggers who can't get laid
Guess there are some here who are going to take up a new hobby: kiddy skipping.
Which reminds me: Michael Jackson is going to be smelted and made into action figures so that the kids can play with him for a change.

I don't give a shit about valentine's day but I know my girlfriend does and we're only together for about 3 months so yeah. I'll give her a little Armani parfume and we'll eat at a Japanese restaurant. I've never been to a japanese restaurant so I am sure it will be fun.

Re: Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day is one of the most evil ideas for a holiday ever. Most people in relationships seem to hate it due the unnecessary pressures it creates (and the disappointments that can rise). For a lot of single people it's a day specifically created to focus their attention on the fact they're alone.
Fortunately my girlfriend doesn't give a shit about the whole thing and made me promise not to do/buy anything. She will probably come round and we might make pancakes together before watching a movie or something, if we can be bothered.

Re: Valentine's Day
Valentines day is stupid. I don't need a day to focus on a girlfriend. Mothers Day, fathers day, birthdays. It's all just shite.
No day is ever the same, anyways.
I'l probably get some drugs and think that I need to fix my life up.

Re: Valentine's Day
I'll be stuck in the labs getting coursework due first thing Tuesday done for most of the daytime, then assuming I actually manage to get it done I'll head to a pub somewhere, imbibe enough Special Guinesss (lo MrL) to stop my legs from functioning and stagger home with a couple of mates singing "We are sailing".
Better than last year. Cheaper too.

Re: Valentine's Day
As part of a bet I have to ask out a girl who I've spoken less than fifty words to previously. I was thinking one of the girls (literally there's two of them) in my mathematical science class. I don't talk to them (or anyone else on my course because I'm rarely there) and I fail to see how either of them could possibly be doing anything on valentine's day.

Re: Valentine's Day
On an aside somebody who i met at work and had only known for like a week said she thought i was a deviant.
This was an older woman too so it wasn't even like i was trying to hit on her or anything (it's pretty standard for women i "hit on"* to think i'm deviant).
On the upside i got the obligatory "sarcastic" description.

Re: Valentine's Day
Well as I'm alone on Valentines day I think I'll sit at home under a blanket quietly sobbing into a tin of cold baked beans while listening to depressing music and watching all the romatic slushy films on T.V. with the sound off refelcting on how empty my life is and how patethic not have a gf is on Valentines day.
Cause clearly that's what's expected.

Personally I have never been a big fan of valentines day, it just seemed a bit pointless.
As for tonight all I am doing is playing in the university pool's doubles tournament and then watching tv. Unless Nonentity's plan succeeds then I get to spend the entire night in front of the computer.

ITT It becomes apparent most of the internet are single, and those who aren't seem to be soppy and pathetic when it comes to girls (except for Dante, who's a real man )

Re: Valentine's Day
The 'lol internet people are all single or are crap with the girls anyhow lol' is getting rather tiresome. Maybe I am just living in a weird area/country or something but almost everyone I know is on the internet, from little kids, to trendy teenagers, to old married people and even the grey folks.

Re: Valentine's Day
I'm trying to avoid the subject. I have recently started "seeing" someone, and as I usually don't like to commit to things early it's been about a month and niether of us have used the gf bf phrase yet. Though I invited her over tonight so she thinks I don't completely not care.
if I seem more moody than usual tomorrow you know why
