Valentine's Day is just something that happens in shop windows.

Valentine's Day makes me think...

"Why do couples feel the need to take a whole day off being all lovey-dovey and couply to spend money on being lovey-dovey and couply in public places to make those of us, who under normal circumstances are perfectly happy being single, resent the fact that we are 100% less in a lovey-dovey committed relationship than they are? And it's not like they even want to do it, it's just a hassle for people who inevitably forget and frankly have better things to spend their money on. It's like the nation goes off on some mass commercialized guilt trip, the primary purpose of which seems to be to remind individuals such as myself, lest we forget, that love is something that happens to other people."

And then I see a load of guys hurrying back from their lunch breaks holding bunches of over-priced roses, and I think to myself 'heh heh....suckers!' and genuinely feel better.

Girls like soppyness, with a few exceptions (Jenny). I was told by the two girls in my flat to go for soppy. So I did. I ordered a rose to be delivered to my girl last week. I then cancelled it cuz I figured it would probably embarrass her as i ordered it to be sent to her work address by mistake. Forgot about it. Just received a text - apparently it arrived even though I phoned them up and got them to cancel it, AND it said 'Order Cancelled' on the website under my order. I am not happy.

The other thing was she's told me at least 5 times that I'm not to buy her anything because she isn't getting me anything. Now this means either

a) I go without a present, she doesn't have a present and we have an alright time.
