GD Christmas Meet!
'Tis the season to be jolly! And meet up with your fellow strange internetters!
I'd like a GD Christmas meet before the New Year.
Firstly it should be in December.
Secondly it should be in London.
Saturday 9th December! (unless loads of people can't make that, then I'll maybe consider changing the dates - doubtful though)
Now what would people like to do?
I thought it might be cool to go for some sort of Christmassy lunch somewhere on the Saturday, perhaps in a pub. Then spend a bit longer in that pub before maybe moving onto one or two others. End up at a club/bar at the end.
I will consult with other London social-goers (read: yahwe) for locations - somewhere nice but cheap would be the order of the day.
So, who can make it? And what do you think of the plan? Anyone got better ideas?

Great idea, I will of course be attending - if you can change the date from the 9th to the 16th. I'll still be in Cardiff on the 9th.

Same as furball, except if you change it to the 16th I won't be able to attend, rather than will.

Re: GD Christmas Meet!
ok so we have:
9th - T&F / Jakiri
16th - furball / Phang
I can make either date actually, now I've looked at when my flight is over to Jersey. If more people post when they can or can't make it then I'll consider changing the date. I'd prefer the 9th to be honest though!

If you want to organise an event elsewhere chump, you're more than welcome (although obviously in the new year now as I've bagsied December for internet meets! :xmas: )!
It makes no sense for me to organise an event somewhere that's miles away from where I live. If I had it my way I'd organise it to be in Woking so you should count yourselves all lucky you're not subjected to this craphole.

Sadly .. i have to rain on this idea a bit .. were u planning on a real meal, cos anywhere decent will have to booked for staff christmas do's at least 2 months ago, if your just thinking of weatherspoons at lunch time for turkey and trimmings i guess that could work.

I'm not sure what you're classing as decent but my friends managed to book a table for 22 people the other day in a reasonable place (£30-£40 per head sort of level). From calling around they reported there were quite a few places who could do reasonable size table bookings (14-18 people) at various points. Obviously if we're restricted to a specific day then it becomes a bit harder.

Hmm dispite the fact that I've barely posted here since I got back to the UK, I may pop along, as I'm in London on the 9th for a gig. I've never met internet people before (and still suspect it may still all be a big joke).
If its anywhere near Camden, I'd hardly have an excuse not to!

It's not as north as Enfield.

It's probably cheaper to travel to Manchester and have a night out than have a night out in London.
I'm not suggesting walking through moss side in the middle of the night...

Re: GD Christmas Meet!
OK chumps - this is definitely going to be on Saturday 9th December. For those of you who can't make it, I'm really sorry, but I'm busy both other weekends and seeing as I'm "organising" it I think that's a deciding factor! Unlucky!
Now are people THAT concerned about going for a decent lunch somewhere?
I had a pub lunch (perhaps christmas orientated with a roast!) in mind, as it doesn't require bookings and is relatively cheap (usually). I expect most of you want the same thing, but I'm just checking.

Re: GD Christmas Meet!
Logistically I can make it anyway. £1 each way on megabus + tube fares. But I'd need somewhere to sleep for the night, so if anyone's able to offer a floor/sofa I'd be very grateful.

Easy to get to you say? How about an advanced state of physical fear when you see the twisted, perpetually grin-stained face of a Scottish psychopath and unconfirmed paedophile bearing down on you?
"Hello darlin'. Ya want tae see me credentials?"
I knew there was something going on with Dace when he begged me not to rape him in his sleep at Roady's house.
