Last night I was going out in Rotterdam with my Iraqi friend, after a short visit to the casino. We drunk , danced and watched (we both are in a relationship) the ladies untill 05:00. Everything was great and without problems apart from a little incident I had with a marrocan guy who was drunk and agressive. Nothing happened, gladly, before we could hit eachother one of the doormen sussed the situation. After that we visited the kebab shop like usual and had some shit food and left back to the station to catch the first train in the morning.

While we where walking towards the station some car passed by very very closely and almost hit my mate. You know, the kind of actions you just know they're doing it on purpose, trying to piss you off so he kicked the car a bit while it passed. The car stopped and 3 marrocan guys got out, one with a knife.

To be honest, I was seriously scared, I mean a knife, a Marrocan and a knife, we all know the stories and especially the Dutch GD members know what I mean. Plus they where with three, we with two and we where pretty damn drunk, well i was at least.

So I noticed the driver coming out with a knife, and knowing the temperament of my mate I told him to act relaxed and don't do stupid things because you don't want to get a knife burried in your chest. The three of 'm proceeded towards us, the two guys without knife on front and the knife wielding tosser closely behind, yelling. While I was trying to ehm communicate with them, trying to tell them not to make a big thing out of this one started punching towards my mate, he dodged two fists and kicked the guy on his upper leg which made him go down directly. In a short period of time he advanced towards the second and wanted to grab him but the guy backed off, during that little time the third one with the knife just stood there and decided to get back in the car. My mate just let them go, because of the knife, he said afterwards.

I just stood there and felt a bit like a chicken.. I asked my mate why he just rushed into these morons while one is having a knife and he just told me that he's an Iraqi, that's the way we do.

I have double feelings about this. Firstly I felt like a chicken for being so impressed by a knife, but on a second thought if it would have ended in a silly street rumble the guy with the knife could have gone in panic mode and could have started stabbing around. I was also pretty drunk, I probably wouldn't have hit anything and would get knocked down by the first fist landing on my face.

Everytime when I get into such problems (which isn't that much though) it has always to do with agressing Marrocans, every damn time. What the **** is wrong with these people?

i remember being in the same situation with hans a few years ago, when 4 guys in a car stopped us, came out and started shouting. but luckily they just did some threats and left again. anyway you did the right thing. glad you're still in 1 piece.

other than that, i'd probably purposely not get too drunk when there are only the two of us going out just in case things like this happens - in your situation, i wont be too drunk so i'd be able to use my people skills and tell them that he's drunk and that he doesn't know what he's doing and that it would be greatly appreciated if they were to calm down and not make a big deal out of it -

otherwise, i'd probably smack the butt of my 9mil to one of the ****ers' nose bridge, pull his hair back and stick the business end of my 'tool' in his mouth and tell the other guys to get the **** on with their lives before i blow every one of their brains off - but then again, this only happens in movies.. so.. err

It's probably not maroccan people in general, probably just social problems in your countries that are big in those groups.

Anyways, it's easy to say that a knife is not that dangerous, at least not in the hands of a "gangster" or whatever these guys fashion themselfs to be (I would recon that 99% of all knife wielders on the streets are untrained), but the fact is, knifes are scary as hell, as are all weapons. But, it's also a very false sense of security for the guy who drew it, and the fact that he drew it so early is a show that he probably just wanted to intimidate, not kill or seriously injure, but that's just speculation of course. My recomendation would be to find a big or hard object, like a plank or a brick, and intimidate back. These guys are often more scared then they appear. And, if they do attack, you have a exelent way of repelling them. I'm not sure, however, that I would do that in a two to three situation if I was drunk as ****. But, as your pal showed, they weren't really up for it.
And no way you were a chicken. A chicken would run from a situation like that. Even thought you might not have fought, at least you did not panic your friend by running or boost the other guys by doing it! I've seen four guys beat up 20, beacause their friends did not run.

we were going through a green light and they almost ran us over so we waved our arms at them (not even giving them the finger) and they came after us (within 30 seconds they had over 5 traffic violations worth at least 2000 EU )

an marrocan guy once put a knife on my throat when he was with some m8's.. but I couldnt care less and just looked him in the eyes and said absolutely nothing...
He just threatend a bit alot of blablabla.. but I just said nothing so he let me go a bit later..

Later that night I just came back with some older friends and beat the crap outta those guys for doing that to me..

I obviously kinda hate marrocans nowadays.. coz that wasnt the first time they tried to do that kidna shit on me..

I used to fight those guys when they tried me out, but I found that that is kinda pointless in the end coz fights always end up bad and in the end they dont have winners... even when you have won the fight

so I would just walk away unless one of my friends would be involved and in need of help..
altho I ussually have a hard time deciding if I should walk away and swallow my pride or not..
Ive fought enuff in my life.. cba to do that again without helping some1 with it, I rather think about not gettin a criminal record when the situation is about to escalate..

their more important things then trying not to be a chicken..
ive seen friends end up in the hospital with glass in their eyes.. its just not worth it

I've managed to survive without any serious wounds for quite a long period of time in a very nasty city by just using the 'ignore and walk away' principle.

It's never worth the hassle getting into a fight with scum.
Even if you beat the crap out of them, you'll always wait for the day they find you and have more m8's.

Normally it's all show, the only time it's ever gotten really really serious for me was when a large gang of about 8 or so jumped me.
Nothing I could have done before that would have stopped em, all you can do is try to fight your way out and get away in once piece (which I didn't).

Gangsters, scumbags, chavs, townies, drunken louts, rugby players, toffs in gangs of 6 or more after a hard night in the 'wine bar'....all of em just aint worth it.

You did the right thing to be honest, your friend is somewhat of a muppet.

heh, i was walking back from a club me and a m8 had jus been to a kebab shop. then this dude approached me and pulled a knife on me, i was like wtf do i do, give him my kebab? run? stay and fight? my m8 was jus stood frozen as he hasnt been in many fights nothing this extreme, this dude without saying anything starts flailing this ****ing knife at me. i started backing away then managed to land 1 punch on his face he went down i kicked the fk out of him a couple of times then ran like a bitch.

tbh thats the 2nd time ive been in that situation and its absolutely gay, firstly cos u dont know wtf to do. and secondly it fkn ruined my kebab and i was hungry for the rest of the night.
