Duke sails across the floor of the room and is rudely stopped by a large consol, which then procedes to fall over him. He gets up and collects the gear that was scattered across the room by the now dead civ. Duke then unslings his shotgun and loads it for self-defence, just in case. Now with his gear finally collected and his shotgun loaded, Duke tries to find his way out. (of this wierd parallel dimesion of isolation where he is cut off from people who he thought were adjacent to him)

ooc/ the post itself ends before the paraenthesises, i added that to show my frustration and lack of all knowledge of anything going on :P

Fleeing from the guards that had been assigned to escort him off of the secured transport, and that had suddenly gone insane, Arlan charges down the side path that ran along the landing pad. The fact that he had followed a consistent work-out program while he lived on Earth helped him maintain a steady running pace, although he was still thrown off-stride a bit by the fact that his hands were cuffed in front of him. Seeing the path beginning to widen ahead of him, Arlan put on a burst of speed, once again nearly falling as his inability to use his hands effecitvely threw him off-stride. Still hearing the wild screams of the guard behind him in the distance, Arlan doubted that he would survive if he did fall. The fact that he was wearing business shoes, instead of running shoes, certainly wasn't helping either, and Arlan wondered if he would run any better if he stopped for a moment to kick them off and run barefoot. Of course, that would give the strangely maddened guards time to catch up to him, and Arlan certainly couldn't outrun a bullet. Life, it seemed, was an endless series of trade-offs. Starting to breathe a bit heavily, Arlan nonethless decided to push on, and continued running full-tilt down the side path towards the apparent loading deck ahead. Numerous figures came into shape now: six men and what appeared to be a fully armed and armored heavy marine. Coming still closer, Arlan could see that the two men with the heavy marine were armed and at least half-armored as well: no doubt soldiers of some type. The other four men, if they could be called that, seemed to be going insane much like the guards, howling with rage and snarling like animals. Backpeddling rapidly in an attempt to stop from charging into the middle of this odd stand-off, Arlan once again nearly fell on his *ss. Although he would have prefered to examine the situation further, the distant sounds of snarling could still be heard down the path behind him. It seemed that he was stuck between two immobile forces once again, and yet again there would undoubtedly be trade-offs to be made. However, the three marines seemed to still be somewhat sane in a world abruptly gone mad, as opposed to the guards behind him that undoubtedly would at least beat him to a pulp for running away. Aware of how rediculous he must look, a man dressed in a tasteful white suit with his hands handcuffed in front of him, Arlan nonetheless started to run forward again, charging towards the three marines. Nearly out of breath, Arlan nevertheless tries to shout a warning as he runs towards the three men about to engage the maddened workers. “Those…… the guards……. They are……”

Roxborough, picks up teh nozzle of her weapon as the light fades, looking around. And then the haunting begins. The civilians turn into something out of this worldand Roxborough just looks at them weirdly.

What the... ?

And then they come charging. It all happens pretty swiftly: One of them is suddenly on top of her, it hands gripping her throat, jaws closing in on her face. She clenches her teeth and narrows her eyes. The nozzle comes up and plants itself in the zombie's mouth before Roxborough pulls the trigger.

She's wearing flame-proof clothing, otherwise this would have been a pretty desperate action. She turns her face away as the napalm floods down the creature's throat.

*Flapjack responds almost instantly, his left hand still wielding the small flashlight, he was holding the medkit in his right hand when he came out of the tunnel and as such now brought it down on the technician's back. The effect of this seemed to be neglectable as Flapjack reached for his pistol, ducking sideways as the technician stroke at him again before litterally slamming the pistol's barrel into the technician's face and pulling the trigger, twice*

*It seemed this was his unlucky day however as the first round went clean through the technician's head, leaving a gaping hole for the second to follow. More disturbingly, the technician didn't seem to be bothered much by the missing of an eye and Flapjack could only just pull himself out of the way of the next strike, putting another dent into a random powerline. This time Flapjack however wasn't going for half measures and, from a minimal distance, begant to empty his pistol's clip into the technician, not stopping untill he heard either the dry clicking of an empty chamber, or the wet splashing of a dead body, riddled with holes, hitting the ground*

*One minute he's being hurled across the room - an impossible feat - the next he's dusting himself off, a little weirded out from it all thinking everything has been taken care of when the shit hits the fan big time.*

"Sweet mary merciful god..."

*The lights go out, alarms erupt loudly only to be swiftly replaced by ear-pirecing screams and a hellish orange glow. It all happens so quickly that Hewitt is simply staring, dumbfounded at it all, when a zombified civilian they had just rescued lunges all over Roxborough. It is then that Hewitt sees the other two baring down on him now only mere metres away from tearing him to pieces.*

*Mostly a reflex action more than anything, Hewitt steps back and jerks the chaingun up at the two monsters depressing the trigger in the process. To Hewitt everything appears to slow down as it seems to take an eternity for the chaingun to fire when in reality the reaction is almost instant, with the deadly hail of bullets tearing into his two assailants at point blank range as momentum from the sudden movement swings the heavy gun across.*

As soon as the lights went out, No Dachi was shining the flashlight around alarmedly and, after a few moments, when the orange lines started appearing, had the flashlight off and pouched and was using his now-free hands to load an ammunition clip into his sub machine gun. He slammed the clip home and pulled back on the latch, preparing the weapon for firing. And, the lights were on again. But something was up, the other dock workers were on their feet and, suddenly all of them were charging. No Dachi could dimly make out the sound of a voice from somewhere behind him saying something about guards, but he wasn't really concentrating on that. Shouldering the stock of the sub machine gun, No Dachi pressed down on the trigger and opened up, firing in rapid bursts and aiming for the head of the lead worker.

[ooc] Umm, how many of those civilians were there? I counted three inside the room and one outside throwing Duke along the corridor. So far I've killed that one, Duke phase-shifted through the wall and shot one of the ones inside, Roxborough char grilled one, and Hewitt turned the last two into swiss cheese; for a total of five. So either we're doubling up on the kill quotas somewhere or my counting is even more weirded than the situation. [/ooc]

[OOC] We're not really on the clear how Disruptor could be thrown, stand up, collect his equipment, load his shotgun, run into the room, put his shotgun against a charging, superfast zombie's head and shoot it before said zombies (or us) did anything.

*Sighs, hit's the temporal "PAUSE" button on the thread, steps in and examines the situation.*

Hmm, Disruptor, nice little display of violating the laws of physics there, which are still relatively intact. My judgement as follows.

*Moves Disruptor down the fall on his fall against a console, out of range to do anything at the moment due to speed of the zombies and the distance involved.*

*Goes back to his control room and hit's the "PLAY" button.*

Military training and instinct kick in simultaneously as Gokan grabs the shotgun levelled at his chest, pushing the barrel off to one side. It goes off, destroying a console and showering the room with electrical sparks as Gokan, his heart beating frantically in his chest, draws and unsafeties his right pistol and in one smooth motion presses it up against the other marines throat, barrel pointing upwards and fires. Brain matter erupts from the top of it's head, painting the ceiling a vivid scarlet.

He had been on the verge of telling everyone to stand back. He would've showed them how to mow down a horde of crazed people. It was a fun thing to do with a chain gun, but alas, for now Fluffie's moment of glory had been stolen. So he did what any good ol' side kick'd do - he mowed down everyone that was crazed and still standing after Dachi had his way with them.

Due to it heading towards end of quarter here, I'm in the midsts of working on essays. No DM tonight unless I get things done a lot quicker than expected, however after tommarrow my schedule get's a lot lighter.

Finally, as long as the posts are well-constructed, you have limited freedom when it comes to killing enemies you have already run into. Hence since you know what it takes to kill zombies at this point, you can assist each other and whatnot.

DM #6 – Education
  • Squad #1
    • Location: Section A5
    • Personal:
      • AcidK – As you aim at the Marine of your choosing, you open fire. The rounds from the chaingun literally tear the Marine in half, sending the lower extremities flying away from the upper torso. Watching it land, you are more than surprised to see the torso section look at you, the start crawling with one arm towards you, while raising the other holding a Machine Gun and start firing. The shock wears off quickly, but not before the Marine fires a few rounds, most of which miss you, but two strike your armor, which resists the bullets, leaving you with flashes of pain where they struck. You fire again, this time tearing the Marine’s head up. It skids from the impact, and before your eyes, starts to disintegrate in from of you, sending orange ash flying through the air. Seeing the rest of the enemies in the section taken care of, you look around and see that the crossfire destroyed the consoles in this section.
        • Health: In Good Health
        • Marine Type: Heavy
        • Armor: Heavy
        • Weapons:
          • Chaingun
          • Pistol
        • Equipment
          • PDA
      • Spritely Zombie – Pushing the Barrel away, you are slightly to slow, for the Marine fires just as it clears your chest, and you feel dozens of pinpricks of pain across your side. A quick glance reveals that the armor did its job and reflected the pellets, while a console behind you is less lucky. However, you quickly place your right hand pistol against the other Marines throat, barrel pointing upwards and fires. Now covered with brain matter, you watch as the Marine stumbles back, slowly disintegrating in front of your eyes, sending orange ask into the air. Checking around, you see that the rest of the Marines have been taken care of.
        • Health: Minor Bruising along left torso
        • Marine Type: Specialist
        • Armor: Light
        • Weapons:
          • Pistol
          • Pistol
        • Equipment
          • Flashlight
          • Security PDA
          • Ammo Clips (Pistol)
          • Power Crowbar
      • Mrmao – You draw your pistol as the Marine raises it’s weapon at you. Thankfully you manage to aim first, and fire right into the Marines face. The bullet flies true, tearing through the forehead of the marine and out the other side. The body falls limp, but not before squeezing the trigger. You feel a lance of pain across your right arm, and swear in pain from the bullet wound, but also at the corpse. Before your eyes the corpse seems to act as if it caught on fire, its flesh burning off it, orange ash floating off it before all that remains is the armor and weapons of the former Marine. Looking up, you see that the rest of your squad made it through okay.
        • Health: Bullet Wound along right arm
        • Marine Type: Specialist
        • Armor: Light
        • Weapons:

      • Slick – Speaking to the Marine, you raise your loaded shotgun, time almost moving in slow motion, and fire before properly aiming. The blast, point blank range, knocks the Marine back several feet, and punching through the armor that the Marine is wearing. You see blood start to drip from the wounds, yet the Marine does not scream in pain like most people would, but instead fires its own weapon. You twist to the side, but then feel a blinding flare of pain from you upper left arm. Taking a look, you see a hole in the armor, and blood starting to drip from the wound. Aiming again, you fire the shotgun again, this time taking the Marine in the face, sending it flying back further where it lands, but by this point your vision starts to go red from shock, and you start to feel weak and cold.

    *After the last Marine falls, your comm links go off. You then hear the voice of Sargent Kelly, which is a good thing for you have not heard any of the Marines say a word after changing.*

    “Marines, we have an infestation going on here. Your orders are to get to the security checkpoint between Alpha and Beta sectors, but be warned, we have had no communications from them. Find out what is going on and secure that section. Move out!”

    *With the end of the transmission, you take a few minutes to acquaint yourselves, patch wounds and move out. Surprisingly, the pathway is clear, until you reach the main corridors. From this point on it is almost a straight path to the checkpoint station. However, as you look, you see that there are several civilians walking about. What is not good is that you can quite clearly see the grey skin. About 50 meters down is the checkpoint, but as you start to focus, the lights completely cut out. In the darkness, you hear footsteps, distant screams, sounds of eating, and the ventilation system shutting off. This time, the lights stay off, and then the emergency lights activate, flicking for the most part.*

    • Orders: SURVIVE!
    • Personal:
      • Hewitt – As you watch the two former civilians rush towards you, you aim your chaingun and open fire. Your rounds, designed to punch through armor and tear flesh apart do their jobs, however as you watch the civilians wade through the rounds, even as their flesh is torn up. Shifting your aim upwards slightly, your rounds tear into the heads of the civilians. Both of them drop like sacks of rocks, and before your eyes, start to disintegrate as if they were on fire, sending orange ask into the air until all that is left is their clothing, covered in ash. Taking a second to collect yourself, you hear gunfire, and turn to see Disruptor flying into the room, as if he was shot. You see Richard take a look, then duck back as more gunfire is heard.
        • Health: In Good Health
        • Marine Type: Heavy
        • Armor: Heavy
        • Weapons:
          • Chaingun
        • Equipment
          • Ammo Clips (Chaingun)

      • Dunin Hemm – As the former civilian get’s on top of you, you manage to put the nozzle of the flamethrower into it’s mouth and sprays it with Napalm. Your armor is indeed fireproof for short periods of time, but this barely passes through your mind before you ignite it. Instantly the civilian is turned into a roman candle, and it launches itself off you, screaming as it attempts to run away, before falling to the ground. You too hit the ground and roll to extinguish the flames that are on your armor and clothing, with are easily put out. Standing up, you see the situation is taken care off, only for Disruptor to come flying into the room, as if he was shot, with the sound of gunfire following him.

      • Richpur – As you watch Disruptor fly through the air and land painfully, you aim your Machine Gun at the temple of the former civilian, and after saying something, blow off the face of the civilian. It drops to the ground, bouncing slightly. Then something strange happens, the corpse starts to disintegrate, almost as if it was tossed into a fire, with orange pieces drifting off and finally all that is left is some dust within the bloody clothing of the civilian. This process only takes a few seconds, and by that point you have already moved into the conference room, only to see that the situation is well in hand. Hearing a scream from outside, you turn back only to barely avoid running into Disruptor as he runs in, with the sound of gunfire following him. Taking a look, you see three people clad in Standard Marine armor walking, almost limping towards your direction. Taking another look, you see that their exposed flesh is grey, before you duck back to avoid gunfire from them.

      • Disruptor – The world swims before your eyes as you fly through the air and land painfully, knocking over a console. You pull yourself up, thanking the helmet for preventing any serious brain damage, and think for a second about violating the laws of physics, but decide that running through walls would be to painful at this time. Seeing Richard run into the conference room, you take a second to look around, and see three Marines walking towards you. Waving your arms, you yell at them, before noticing their walk is stuttering, almost as if they are limping. The lights then decide to start flickering brightly, and you see their flesh is a dark grey. Swearing, you sprint for the conference room as the Marines raise their weapons and open fire. You feel something akin to a sledgehammer hit your left shoulder and you fly into the conference room, landing hard on the far side. Fortunately, your armor deflected the bullet, but it hurts like crazy, and that region is slightly weakened.

      • Fluffie – Acting like a good sidekick, you step up next to No Dachi, and use your chaingun to help finish off the rest of the dockworkers to your everlasting glee. What’s not cool is how they start to disintegrate after your salvo, sending orange ash into the air, until seconds later all that’s left of them are their clothes and equipment covered in dust. Feeling the need for slaughter fading, you hear a yell behind you, and turn to see two blue plasma bolts fly through the air. You see two civilians standing at the entranceway, holding strange looking weapons, looking very zombified. You then notice that they seem to be aiming again, preparing to fire once again.

      • No Dachi – Being alert, you had your flashlight out and about, but coulden’t really see anything, as if the beam of light was being eaten up. This is rather academic, for you then grab your Machine Gun, loading it and check the safety as lights reactivate, and you see the civilians. As the stranger arrives, and they rush, you raise the Machine Gun to your shoulder and fire. Your shots, aiming towards the head of the lead worker, fly true and the head of the lead worker snaps back. The body falls, disintegrating before your eyes. You then shift your aim to the next one, and repeat in a calm professional manner. Next to you, you hear the sound of a chaingun firing, and taking a look next to you, see Fluffie, being a really good sidekick, helping you finish off the dockworkers. Before you can relax, you hear a yell behind you, and turn in time to see two blue plasma bolts fly through the air, coming from the entrance to the hanger bay where the two civilians you saw were standing, holding odd looking years. You watch them adjust their aim, preparing to fire again.

        Being the only non-poster, you are caught flatfooted as Inspectre pushes you aside as the first volley of plasma bolts fly through the air. One of them skins your left arm, and you feel a strong burning sensation along it, but fortunately it’s only a superficial burn, this time.

      • Inspectre – Managing to escape the guards, your sprint makes your feet feel like that they will form blisters in the next few days, for those shoes were not for any sort of running. Yet you managed to reach relative safety, for these Marines seem to be the normal, human variety with their brain functions relatively intact. Standing there with you hands cuffed in front of you, you watch the two Marines make short work of the dockworkers. You turn away as you see the bodies start to disintegrate only to see from the path you came from your guards, their faces blank, grey and with bleeding eyes, and each holding an odd looking pistol weapon, the chambers glowing a bright blue that seems to smoke from the barrels. You push the Marine with you (Heiro) to the side at your former guard’s fire. Two bright blue plasma blasts streak past you and Heiro, barely missing. The guards, wearing their civilian suits, look at you with expressionless features and aim again.

In addition, you are to send out a general alert to the UAC sat in orbit and relay it to the fleet. Kelly out.”

    *You have your new orders, only problem is getting to the Administration offices from this location.*

  • Squad #4
    • Location: Section B4
    • Orders: SURVIVE!
    • Personal:
      • Flapjack – Your first strike against the former civilian is next to useless, if anything it laughs the impact off. However it seemed to have bought you enough time to grab your pistol. Since you seem to enjoy bad luck, your first two shots only take out the eye of the civilian, who barely notices the lack of it’s eyes. Managing to avoid the civilian, you aim and fire. You fire few shots take it in the torso, and it’s only response is to twitch as it approaches you. The next takes it in the next, and the final one from you gun in the center of it’s forehead. It falls to the ground, limp and dead. Within seconds you watch as the corpse acts if it was on fire, disintegrating while throwing off orange ask into the air, until all that is left is the clothing of the civilian covered in ask. Checking it over, you pull out the PDA of the civilian, damaged by what looks to be one of your shots. However, where the next used to be is a chain with a security ID card on it. Grabbing it, you pull yourself out of the crawlspace, and look. To one end is a dust covered pile of clothing that looks to have come from the civilian, the other, the Marine that escorted you. However, the Marine’s armor is heavily dented to the point where the points of impact must be deep inside the Marine, and his left arm twisted at a unnatural angle, the other several feet away. You are shocked at the Marine turns to look at you, and coughs up blood.


        ”You…. *cough* lived……. If you… got power restored….. get to…… section B3…… check the couplings…… there…… ignore the….. sickie there…… do your….. job…..”

        *With that, the Marine’s head falls limp, obviously dead. You are seriously confused, for you don’t know what the hell to do. You then see that the Marine was clutching a active PDA. Grabbing it, you see that it contains a list of orders, which include escorting you throughout the Beta areas working on power conduits. It also has the comm channels in use. Tuning in, you hear nothing but static, but then you see a note about a small-arms locker at the entrance of section B3. Grabbing your portable power generator, you check the card you took from the civilian, and see it is for the entrance to the Delta labs.

        *You have your new orders, only problem is getting to the Medical Bay from this location. The Beta labs were a confusing pathway, and you lost track while following the Marine. Then you remember the dead Marine’s PDA, and pull it out. One of the functions is a map. Activating it, you trace out the path to the Medical Bay, and come up with two solutions. One is through the corridors, most likely run into the others that were changed. The other is back into the coffin, where you take a maintenance tunnel that would be a really tight fit, which should take your straight to the medical bay.*

I'm trying out different forms of DM'ing here. Which do you prefer, the latest version just posted (individual), or the one that I was using earlier.

Also, if you wish to avoid death and injuries, I would suggest the following:
  • Nice, well-contructed posts
  • Decent Length
  • No Doing stupid things (like violating laws of physics
  • Posting period

OOC: This last style is obviously the best for us, but it seems very cumbersome for you to carry on. Won't the DMing suffer? /OOC

Roxborough looks about the room as the chaos seems to calm for the moment. She relaxes and held breath escapes her chest, just as gunfire sounds throughout the area, accompanied by the man Duke hurtling in through the door.

Lots of flying time for him, she ponders as she sets to action.

Enemies are in the corridor beyond the door; that much is clear. Roxborough leaps forward towards the door, not exiting, but aiming her flamethrower in the direction of where Duke came from. She squeezes the trigger, sending rivers of fire down the designated corridor, body tensed like a spring; ready to retreat should need be.
She narrows her eyes as the intense heat of the flames hits her face. She really needs to get a hold of a gas mask, not just for the heat, but because of the noxious fumes produced by the flames.

ooc/ I think it was stated that everyone starts with a gas mask, you also have heavy armor which supposedly has a sufficient airsupply. I think Bakan will yell at me if this isn't true soon enough. /ooc

Flapjack looked down the maintenance tunnel again, they hadn't fixed that power coupling but with both reactors offline he didn't think it was all that important, Flapjack then looked back down at the PDA.
The shortest route was probably through the corridors, not to mention the fastest, but with all these... Mutants walking about the maintenance tunnels where probably the safest.

Thus, after a short period of making up his mind, Flapjack plotted the route through the maintenance tunnels and made a short complaint about how those tunnels where to damned small before shoving his medkit, followed by the portable generator and then crawling in himself, his pistol in his right hand and his flashlight in his left.

We need to move out to the checkpoint between Alpha and Beta, come on!

*Cid turned and half-ran in his heavy armour and carrying the heavy chaingun towards the Beta Checkpoint, keeping alert for anything else that may decide to jump out on them and try to kill them.*

[ooc]When it comes to DM time based on new format, I had saved the template of the format before actaully DM'ing, so all I have to do is add in the text/whatnot for it.


About helmets - Helmets contain their own built in oxygen supply with built in gas filters, so yes you got a gas mask. The visor is just clear, nothing fancy. You also have a comm-link built right into the helmet there.

AcidK, you really want to run up ahead while there are wounded people behind you [/ooc]

The plasma burns sting rather alot. Rubbing his arm with one hand, he tosses the crowbar back into its bag and slides a shotgun, both barrels already loaded, from the pouch on the side. Flexing the muscles along his arm, he tries to make something out in the dark before firing. focusing on the point of the flashlight, he fires at the nearest moving target, unloading both barrels at the relatively short range....

Arlan watches as the trio of marines expertly cut down the maddened civilians, and although he was somewhat relieved that he wouldn't have to pay witness to a fountain of gore, the civilians subsequent dissolvement into ashes upon death disturbed him even more. Just what the hell had he gotten himself into here? His train of thought, however, was cut short by more snarlings from back the way he came: and this time they were much closer. Running up to join the Marines, he found that he was still out of breath, although he still managed to gasp "Have to . . . get . . . out of . . . here." Hearing a particularly loud howl of rage behind him, Arlan turned to see a pair of his former guards appear, each armed with an unusual pistol. "Look out!!!" Arlan cried, shoving one of the Marines to the ground as the two insane guards openned fire. Blue bolts of light sped their way towards the group, although thanks to Arlan's hasty reaction, the one marine only recieved a light plasma burn along his one arm. "Woah!!" Arlan shouted, then looked up at the two marines still standing. "You're Marines, do your jobs!! SHOOT them!!!"

Seeing as how he was completely unarmored and unused to combat situations, Arlan decided that between warning the Marines several times about the danger, and even pushing one of them out of the way of danger, he'd done enough, and he could leave the fighting to the others. Looking around, he saw a nearby cargo crate that had yet to be carried off. Rapidly crawling on his elbows and knees, Arlan quickly made his way over to the crate, and pressed himself up against it, hoping it would be enough to block whatever the hell it was that his former guards were shooting.

He watches for a moment as Cid runs off. He pauses a moment to compose himself, and wipe as much brain matter as possible from his faceplate. He holsters his pistol, nearly forgetting to click the safety on then jogs after Cid, pausing only to reach down and grab the dead marine-creature's shotgun, pumping the action, ejecting the spent shell and moving another into the chamber.

"Hey, wait the f*ck up Cid! We stand a better chance at surviving this if we go slow, stick together and stay alert, not blundering round corners running flat out."

He stops to make sure the other two are following them, then quickly turns and walks down the corridor, towards Cid and the checkpoint.

Duke sails through the air once more after being hit with an extremely painful object. He slid along the floor into the room and was stopped by piece of furniture. Duke rubbed his incredibly tender shoulder and took out his shot gun. He secured his bag so it couldnt possibly move and then he ran to the doorway. The wall of flames blocked his view of the three dead looking marines .

Duke readied his shot gun and ducked back behind the doors. He crouched under a window, next to Rich, narrowly avoiding beign hit by a flying chair. The glass rained down on him but bounced off of his armor. Duke popped his head up quickly but still couldnt see past the fire.

(ooc/ add this next quoted part if it applies "Duke started to cry before an all-powerful being smites him for having broken more physics laws.")

His mind races, and then his training takes over. 6 of 8 left, he lowers his shotgun and slings his SMG from the bags other side into the air, and looses a volley at the well armed guards. Tracing back along the lines of fire to aim at the spots they had been, in between volleys, in the attempt to hit something...

"Aww what the hell? Our own guys are going psycho?"

*As both Roxborough and Duke take position at the door, Hewitt grabs one of the chairs in the conference and hurls it at one of the glass wall windows (assumably) shattering in completely. He then proceeds to grab the heavy conference table and push it on it's side. This he takes cover behind along with (assumably again ) the other (NPC) marine in the room. That's when the radio message comes in...*

“Marines, we have a war going on here, some kind of enemy incursion. You squad is to get to the armory and secure it at all costs. Kelly out.”

"Oh this just keeps getting better and better..."

*With ample cover and both Roxborough and Duke drawing attention for the moment, Hewitt takes the time to carefully position his aim at roughly the head height of the zombie marines. He gets on the comm.*

"Sargent Kelly! This is Cpl Hewitt, I know how to take these suckers out! Let anyone who doesn't know to blow off the buggers heads... you have to decapitate them to kill whatever it is they've become! Hewitt out."

Having now done everything possible in the short period of time available save bare his asre at the enemy like William Wallace, he squeezes down on the trigger of his chaingun and let's loose, sweeping back and forth a couple of times attempting to decapitate them like the civilians before. He just hopes like hell that what he just announced over the comms is correct.*

Richard turns back at Duke barging into the room in a barely grounded skid as bullets ricochet off the doorframe.

“For crying out loud; you’re a doctor, not an aircraft, get your feet on the floor!”

As he sweeps his gaze back down the corridor and sees the strange marines coming towards them a small part of his mind points out that he’s just shouted at a superior officer.

“Sir.” He adds belatedly.

As he glances back into the room he sees Roxborough heading towards the door with an expression on her face that almost makes Richard feel sorry for the corrupted marines heading to meet her. Then a bullet clips the back of his helmet and any notion that they might not deserve their fate flees in the face of his oncoming headache.

Knowing his helmet isn’t really designed to be shot at for prolonged periods he ducks down under the window that is rapidly disintegrating into a network of bullet holes. Moments later a chair flies over his head and the weakened pane of glass billows outwards in a shower of polychromatic light sparkling in the glow of the flamethrower.

Richard looks over his shoulder in the direction the chair came from and sees pretty much what he expected to - but really had hoped he wouldn’t. The “out” end of the corporal’s chaingun. Richard moves quickly out of the way to allow him a clear field of fire and takes the opportunity to slip another three rounds into his magazine; wanting to be fully prepared for any that survive the streams of fire and metal.

He turned his head, looked at the people holding strange looking weaponry. Obviously, to them, it was not so strange, for at what Fluffie judged was their command, they fired! Strange blobs were a flying, smelling much like...

Plasma...

Not knowing at all wether they smelled and if they did, if they smelled like plasma, if plasma did even smell at all. But it seemed like an obvious guess, they were, after all, on a Mars base.

The plasma-people looked as if they were preparing to send their blobs all around again.

Nastiness.

So, Fluffie opened up. Big time.

Hearing the click of the chaingun chamber moving into position, Grave dives out of the way, with some insane precision, attempting to be caught in the way of a serious payload of large, metal shells. Good to see he had yet another insane marine with him. Admittedly, the intermant lights did have some effect on the aim of his comrade, it can't be put entirely at the darkness' feet.

Coming up hard on his knees, he starts following the line of fire with the shotgun in his left hand. Anything that gets past the chaingun rounds fired from his comrade would meet the painful end of his shotgun rounds. Clicking the trigger, his rounds join the barrage...

Hearing the racket that all three marines were now making, ostensibly for the benefit of his former jailers, Arlan winces and attempts to cover his ears with his hands. This proves to be a difficult matter to do with his hands cuffed together, although Arlan to use his index fingers to block most of his two ear canals, quieting the noise of the gunfire fairly significantly. With little ease that he can do at the moment, Arlan simply cowers behind his cargo container, praying that this new fire fight would soon be over (and, hopefully, with his new companions as the victors).

Slick falls back slightly and looks at his wrist. a large gash fdrom where he got shot is there. Hestands up and shoots the half dead marine. The marine falls back and dies. Slick walks ahead looking for a medic or a madikit

      • AcidK – You run ahead right after receiving the transmission, you don’t notice that the rest of the Marines fail to follow you right away. By the time you realize this, you have entered a main hallway. Then, right in front of you, with a roaring thunder, a orange….. portal opens. The force of its opening knocks you on your back. Looking up, you see…. Something steps out of it. It is easily 7 feet tall, with dark brown skin, with bony protrusions sticking out of its shoulders and elbows. It turns to look at you, it’s head oddly elongated. It makes some kind of hissing sound at you, then holds out its hand. Above its open palm, a ball of fire seems to appear, a ball which it then throws at you.

      • Spritely Zombie – Taking a second to yell at AcidK, you think better and chase after him. Looking at it, you notice the brown skin, glints of multiple eyes, and what appears to bones sticking out of its flesh. It then raises a hand, and forms some kind ball of fire in it, and throws it at AcidK, who is lying on his back. Behind the creature, you see what appears to be two civilians staggering towards you guys as well, and you are able to see in the darkness, the glint of grey flesh.

Focusing, you see that it has a partner as well, both of them crouched and hissing at you and slick, then with startling speed, rush at both of you, fingers outstretched like claws, really really sharp claws.

You land hard next to the clothing of a former Marine, with its Assault Rifle on the ground, fully loaded. You then see two creatures, left behind by the portal, one rushing at you, the other rushing at Mrmao.

As the flames from Dunin Hemm’s flamethrower die out, you see the two Marines, still standing, and still opening fire. Aiming with your chaingun, you open fire, following your own advice, with the flames on the Marines making great targets. The chaingun rounds tear into them easily, and you see their heads explode, and the Marines fall to the ground, disintegrating.

The design of Mars Base was that all sections be as fireproof as possible, to limit fires. In this case, the two flameable objects are the incoming Marines. Firing for a standard spread, you shut it off, and see the two Marines standing, on fire. However, unlike the previous zombie you fried, these two continue walks towards you, and open fire. Ducking back into the room, you are unhit, and see the rest of your squad open up on the flaming Marines.

      • Richpur – Standing as a backup, you quickly reload your weapon. You observe Hewitt and Dunin Hemm quickly kill the incoming Marines, and you stand up, looking at their flaming clothing. Then, without warning, a orange portal opens, creating a massive pressure wave that shoves everyone back slightly. Raising your weapon, you aim at it as a series of…. Crab like creatures emerge. Three of them in total scuttle out, then turns towards the rest of you, and start charging. Opening fire, you see that they are not invulnerable, and quickly stop moving.
        • Health: In Good Health

      • Disruptor – The Doctor Airplane – Most of the other Marines assume that due to your disorientation, you almost jump into the path of Dunin Hemm’s flamethrower, but you manage to pull back. Thus you do not open fire on the Marines, but the rest of the normal ones quickly finish them off. Then you are caught by surprise when a orange portal opens up, spitting out three crab-like creatures. Richard quickly kills them without problem, and you take a second to look at them, and recognize them somewhat, or rather, a concept you read about, somewhere, for some reason, they remind you strongly of parasitic creatures.

    *As the last crab-like creature twitches and dies, you all see that the general area is clear. Taking the opportunity, you all make way towards the armory. As you walk about, you come across various corpses of the civilian staff, most of them dead due to bullet wounds, others from what appear to be claw wounds. All the while, you hear odd noises, coming from the entire base it seems. Reaching an interception that leads to a straight hallway that goes to the armory, you see two civilians stumbling about. What is odd is that they have the crab-creatures stuck to their faces, and you are barely able to see their feet stabbing into the faces. With them is another creature, this one almost 7 feet tall, with dark brown skin. It turns, and hisses, and from its hands form fireballs, which it throws at you. It then makes some gesture, and the two civilians start sprinting forward, arms outstretched.*

    • Orders: SURVIVE!
    • Personal:
      • Fluffie – Taking care of the civilians, you then open up on the odd-looking civilians, with the strange weapons. You shots take them apart literally, then a random shot clips one of their weapons, and they explode quite nicely. However, what is not so nice is that their location was under the main entrance way, and the explosion, well, collapses the entrance into Mars Base. Nice job, you cut yourself off from the rest of the base. Looking around, you see the transport that dropped off the Marines and civilian sitting there.
        • Health: In Good Health
        • Marine Type: Heavy
        • Armor: Heavy
        • Weapons:
          • Chaingun

          • Cigarettes
      • No Dachi – Now an NPC. Opens fire, ducks when explosions happens, states that he recalls that the transport pilot mentioned something about fueling up quickly and that they still had extra.

          • Machine Gun
        • Equipment

      • Heiro – Grabbing your weapon, you open fire along with the other Marine. While your shots hit, either yours or the other Marine strikes one of the strange looking weapons that the new enemies are holding, and it causes a massive explosion. The force of the explosion collapses the entrance to the Mars Base, sealing it under tons of debris. In addition fires appear, with them leading towards several containers, some of them marked with explosives labels.
        • Health: Minor Plasma Burn on Left Arm
        • Marine Type: Standard
        • Armor: Light
        • Weapons:
          • Shotgun

      • Inspectre – The firefight quickly ends, with the ending note being a massive explosion. Grunting, you look down, and see that a random stray shot had opened up a cargo container, which appeared to hold toolkits, and among the tools, a power crowbar. Grabbing the general purpose tool, you activate the blowtorch function, and very carefully burn off the handcuffs, separating them into two pieces, so that you have free hands again. Looking over at the explosion site, you see that it started flames, flames that were starting to head towards containers marked “explosive”, which also appeared to be near a power conduit, which you figured was a bad thing. Looking at the transport that brought you here, you suddenly have a insane idea.

    *As the roar of the explosion dies out, you hear a automated alarm go off.*

    *With the entranceway to Mars Base under tons of debris, and flames rapidly spreading, you hear the sound of massive motors starting up, and look up to see the hanger door starting to open, which would send all the air venting out of the area, and kill another without a backup supply of oxygen. In addition, you see the transport, apparently undamaged, sitting there.*

    • Personal:
      • Flapjack – Going through the maintenance tunnels, you hear lots of strange noises. You quickly make it to the entrance to the medical bay, well, the hatch that would lead you into it. However, due to having everything in front of you, you can’t see anything. However, you hear inside, muttering, and actual words. Taking a chance, you push ahead and enter. Looking around, you see a doctor standing over a surgery table, apparently digging in with both hands into a corpse. You then feel sick when the corpse move, trying to get out of its bounds that keep it on the table. The Doctor looks up at you.*

        “Whoa, someone else survived, amazing. Listen up, something has hit the fan, turning most people into, bizarre mutations of their former selves. AS you can see, even performing a autopsy will not kill it. Anyways, they seem to gain strength and speed, at the lack of intellect, or maybe they are controller….. I sealed off this section with heavy equipment, so you should be….”

        *Without warning, a orange portal opens up, sending the doctor flying back towards you. You seem to be far enough away where it does not affect you, and thus you see stepping out of it some kind of… creature. The creature, standing about 7 feet tall, with thick-looking brown skin and bones sticking out of it, looks at you, and then the converted human. The Doctor meanwhile cowers in a corner, scared stiff, and the creature slashes at the binds that holds the twisted human, who picks himself up, with a single hand trying to hold it’s internal organs in place. The two look at you, then rush forward.

Gokan resists his initial urge to soil himself and run away from the demonic creature before him. Instead, in a very scientific (or at least, professional) manner, he tests the effects of close-ranged shotgun shots upon the alien's anatomy.

"Holy mother-f*cking jesus, f*cking!!" The tirade of obscenities continues as he unloads shell after shell into the creature, seemingly completely oblivious to the zombies.

As the creatures started their way towards him, Flapjack simply brought his pistol up and remembered what he learned about the mutants earlier, a couple of rounds in the head is enough. Thus he focuses on what appears to be the biggest, or at least the most bizar, threat, carefully taking aim on the eyes of the creature and firing off 3 shots before jumping sideaways at the last moment to avoid the mutant's attempt to chop him in half with its bare hands.

Making a neat roll off to the side, Flapjack is back up by the time the mutants start turning and this time takes aim on the humanoid mutant, rationalizing that a single target would be easier then 2 and a wounded target is easier kill, thus he fired off another 3 rounds into the humanoid's head, which collapsed slowly, a large portion of its head now missing.

As the remaining creature approached him to almost within arm's reach, Flapjack pulled the trigger again, this time aiming semi-blindly towards the creature's head. What he hadn't considered was that his 12 round clip was now distinctly empty and a dry *click* sounded through the room. Acting almost entirely on instinct, Flapjack dove out of the way of the creature and reached for his second clip, while wishing he'd brought more, it looked like he was gonna need them.

From his position behind the cargo container, Arlan couldn't really see what was going on, although he could hear the three marines unloading their weapons in the general direction of his former guards. Despite being literally torn apart by gunfire, one of Arlan's former guards was able to get off a second shot with his alien weapon, sending another bolt of plasma streaking towards the four humans. Apparently the shot went quite wide of its intended mark, or perhaps the guard really had it in for Arlan, because a moment later Arlan heard a dull whine and felt a hot rush of air pass by his right cheek. Feeling the cargo container behind him suddenly grow hot, Arlan moved away, only to see that the plasma bolt had burned all the way through the container, and very nearly burning his head off.

Not all of this was bad, however, as the bolt of plasma had also openned the cargo container, allowing a majority of its items to fall out onto the floor, including a power crowbar. Thinking quickly, Arlan snatched up the power crowbar, and carefully positioned it between his knees. Pointing the "business" end up towards his face, he activated the blowtorch function, and then very carefully manuevered the chain holding his wrists together into the flame. The blowtorch made short work of the chain, and Arlan was quite pleased to note that he had been able to free himself without ruinning the suit, burning himself horribly, or getting molten metal dripped all over him. Deactivating the power crowbar, Arlan decided to leave it there on the floor, and pushed himself up to his feet. He then stretched, working out all the kinks that had been developing in his shoulder muscles during the long flight to Mars.

His growing good mood was about to get worse again, however, as he turned to notice that the Marines had somehow, while fighting the two guards, started a fire, which even now was threatening to reach a large amount of fuel, and a large power conduit. Hearing the decompression alarm being to blare, along with a warning over the loudspeakers, Arlan shouted, mostly out of fear, "You idiots!! What are you trying to do, kill us all!?" Looking around for some way that he could survive once all the air in the room had been replaced by the rather oxygen-devoid Martian air, Arlan spied the relatively intact transport nearby. Remembering the few piloting lessons he had taken once while dating/investigating a rather pushy transport pilot for the UAC, Arlan ran towards the shuttle, hoping it was ready for flight. Not entirely wanting to be left alone in this crazy place without weapons, Arlan figured the slightly incompetent Marines would probably do, and he could use the company anyway. Hopefully they would be in the mood for idle chatter, unlike Arlan's previous traveling companions. "Come on you guys, I can pilot this d*mn thing!! Let's get out of here!!" Arlan shouted in what he hoped was a confident tone, as he reached the entrance door to the transport and mashed the openning switch. He waited for the door to swing open, and then quickly clammered inside.

*Cid halted to a complete stop, which was not really hard in the heavy armour and the heavy chaingun he carried, almost falling over as he watched the orange portal suddenly open in front of him. It looked more like an orange lightning bolt suddenly appear and hit the floor, untl the creature suddenly appeared out of it. Cid automatically gave it a name, out of his own sub-conciues, 'Imp'. As the thing screamed and grew it's fireball, Cid stared, stating:.*

Holy, titty-fukking...

*Cid moves to the side as fast as his armour could allow and let out a spray of the hard-hitting spray of fire from his Chain gun, shouting:*

Duke turned round the corner and skidded to a stop. Before him was a very large angry looking demon and two civvies. The civilians had those wierd crabs on their faces. Duke looked more closely and realized that the crabs were attached to their faces with their legs. He then realises that the large demon has just turned around and aimed large fireballs at him. He throws them and they sail off of his hands straight at Duke. Duke ducks quickly to avoid one and rolls out of the way of the second one. Both hit the floor behind him, creating small fires where they landed.

The demon points to Duke and the civilians rush towards him. Duke readies his shotgun and waits until one is just feet from him. Still on the ground, he rolls out of the way and trips the zombie. The second one tracks Duke's actions and continues his charge. Duke aims at the zombie and then jumps forwars and lodges the shotgun under the zombies jaw and fires. The crab thing and zombie's head both explode and Duke is covered in goo. He rolls off to the side and stands sideways against the wall, watchign the demon and the zombie, reloading the left barrel of his shotgun.

Slick, Slightly dizzy from the blood loss, looks up at the mani8ac running at him. In a second he had gathered his thoughts and grabbed the fully loaded Machine gun in his uninjured arm. He stared at the Animal trying to get a good shot throught his immense pain and cloudy thoughts.

Aiming as best he could, he fires. A large amount of shells fire from the gun as if a fireworks display was going off. He screams outloud as to cloud the pain going through his arm and the gun runs out of shells.

He breathes heavy as he looks at the dead corpse on the floor and falls tro the ground, tired and bleeding
