Are Alliance Members Online
I think there should be a system like the gal one where you can see who is online for the alliance...

Alliance HCs should be able to see if their members are online or not as some people might not bother going onto IRC...it would also make it easier so that HCs dont think their members aint joining in with attacks...

What do you all think about this idea?

The * besides a planet is very unreliable: if some1 logs in, then closes browser, the * will remain there until the session expires (max 2 hours i believe)

Only if a person clicks LOGOUT or when session expires, the * will disappear.

So the same problem will arise when you give the HC the * on their members. It is not completely useless, but dont overestimate the use. The only thing you know for sure is when there is NO *, the person isnt logged in.

If the * to be more accurate, you wud have to change the code. 2 examples of making it more usefull are:

- Test to see if the user did any click in the account within the past (lets say...) 2 minutes.
- Show the time passed since last account user action occured. If not logged in, display nothing

2 minutes isnt enough time. Frequently i will neglect my planet for most of hte tick whilst i idle on IRC or start spamming the forums - particularly if i am going into one of my long diatribes that go on for screens and screens and screens...

but i see where you are going...

the 2 minutes was JUST an example, as i tried to implicate with the text within the brackets.

There are numerous ways to adapt my idea and altering it in some way. Like a red * for session duration, and green * when ALSO clicked withi the last 5 minutes, and yellow when cliked withing the last 10. Whatever....

not all bother to come/cant come on IRC everytime they are logged into the game. if there is a defcall the HC could easily check who is online and then mailing them ingame to tell them what to send where...

(only example where it is usefull that i can think of right now)
