Tins of Tuna
I was just looking at the latest sci-tech news at www.theregister.co.uk and noticed a news article about the fastest super computer "blue gene" (and highlighting its little brother "purple") beating its own speed record,
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/10...o_watch_nukes/
but what really got me was this part,
Quote:
The pair will spend part of their time running the nuclear weapons analysis that should supplant underground nuclear testing. The rest of the time, the enormous processing power will be brought to bear on modelling the human brain, and other computationally intensive scientific research.
|
Has any of them at IBM heard of SkyNet?
Which got me thinking... it did become sentient, two things could happen
1) It would be depressed (and bored) because it only had one other computer fast enough to play chess with (thats "purple" btw), also stating that Kasparov was SO last year! Then commits suicide by nuke.
2) Will try to compete for superiority over its sibling and ultimately nuking each other.
Either way we are screwed!! Time to stock up on guns and tins of tuna I think!

Re: Tins of Tuna
I don't like tuna, or most other seafood for that matter.

Re: Tins of Tuna
I don't like people who don't like seafood at all, they always happen to be whiney fags concerning food.

You being serious was so stupid an idea that I didn't bother to consider it.
