Thanks to much badgering from Badger (ironic that), look what's back. We have a new planet, and new map kindly donated by ND. IB will be helping out this time, being an evil stat monkey (don't worry, I'll check his personally). All orders will please be posted in thread, with records of current status kept at the beginning of the thread and as copys on mine and IB's computers. No old powerblocks if you please, and try to refrain from all out war for at least a LITTLE while. Anyway, on with the thread.



This is mostly for new players, but old players may find it helpful as well. (To new players) Please read the info on the website, as it will be essential to you. The rules have barely been changed this time around, except for the territories stuff, check it out down the page. There are also a bunch more generals than there were before.

Colonies: Alsar System is a thread-based roleplaying game where each character is a leader from one of several species that are listed on the website. You may trade, do diplomatic missions, ally and fight with other players, as well as other threats that will keep you busy.

The thread is set in a Sci-Fi universe where mankind has spread throughout the stars. The latest system to be colonised is the Alsar System, and the Terrans, along with other races have begun settling on the planets. The current one is Alsar Secondus, the second planet from the sun. Along the way they've had many difficulties, including fighting between themselves, the sinister, primative Glubs (lizards), Termi-Eron Pirate attacks and more. Expect more of the same. Now for the rules.





Everyone has a space station in orbit which launches Colony hubs to the planet. You each start with a Colony Hub which has the ability to construct your buildings.

Colonies (the large ones) are limited to 10, ever, even if captured, or destroyed. They can be called down by requestition (i.e. asking me whether you can). Each large colony may have up to 4 buildings on it.



Territories:

There may only be one colony per territory. That's pretty much it. However, on the map you'll notice that areas are marked as Trillan, Terran etc. This is the civilian population of the region, and you will of course be more welcome with your own kind. Others may take exception to you ruling other species too. For ease of working, Iridanni players treat Trillan territory as friendly, Termi-Erons treat Antless as friendly.





Resources:

These are gained via the use of Nano-Trucks which produce 2 Slots a day, providing that they can tap into an area which can be processed for resources. To construct a Nano-Truck costs 5 Slots and can be built two a day. They come into the Special Non-combat catergory.





Units and Orders:

Things will only be built if there is enough slots to construct them.

Only one order per day is accepted, with ORDER LIST or similar clearly in it's subject and includes the days order of research, units and buildings.



Titans and Specials- May be limited to a certain amount. However, if they are abused, they will be removed entirely.

Starships- Now illegal. Don't even try building them.

L1- 2 Slots

L2- 3 Slots

L3- 4 Slots

L4- 5 Slots

Titans and Specials- To be agreed at time of research.


Any units you build during a battle WILL NOT ARRIVE TILL THE END OF THE BATTLE


Shuttles can ferry up to 10 units at a time.





Research:

You start at Level 1 research, and at that point can only research level 1 units. When PK feels you are ready to move to the next stage, you will advance to Level 2, and can build and research Level 1 or 2 units. This continues up to Level 4.

You can trade one research a week with another Commander of the same species (as long as their tech is up to that level)

Research is paid for out of Tech Points. 1 point per level- level 1- 1pt, level 2- 2pts etc. You get 10 Research Points a week.

You may invent units to research (within reason) to be used. Bear in mind you MUST use technology out of the Unit Tech lists. A unit's level is may be altered by PK, if he feels it is incorrect.

You may also research one of the available base defences.

Quick Note: Artillery can be below L4 again. If abused, they will go.

Things you research are available to build the same day.







Battles:

When battles are conducted, losses will be resolved by the players, each describing their tactics, and removing units as appropriate. If one player thinks they are being treated unfairly in this way, talk to PK about it. This will go as follows:

1. Attacking player puts up an attack post

2. Defending player puts up a defending post

3. Round DMed

4. Repeat as many times as players wish.

DM's decision is final. Disputing (except where there is a genuine mistake) will cause unit removal.





Miscellaneous:

There are 20 in infantry units, 10 in vehicle units, and 5 in air and 1 in sea units. There is 1 in a titan or special unit. 1 in a artillery unit too.


Secret Plans are allowed but only if you inform PK, and get his approval. Be sure to include a way this will add to the experience of the thread. You must put a decent post, saying how you construct it/launch it/whatever, and spend a decent amount of slots on it. Secret bases are not allowed.

NO giveing away armies if you wish to leave and start a new character. You also may not give more than 10 slots worth of units to another player each week.

Arguments WILL cause removal of units. Any time you think PK is wrong, take it up by PM or E-mail, not in the thread.

Generals for your forces will appear, who you can hire for a certain amount of slots, and they cause your troops to fight better. They will probabally have their own special vehicle as well. You'll be notifyed if one appears. Currently there is:



Ensign Xan (Terran)- Will fight only for Terran Fleet. Comes with a custom Greyhound with highly improved speed. Price: 1 Slot a day .

Pirate TerocNar (Termi-Eron)- Will fight for anyone. Comes with triple barrelled custom Proton Bazooka. Enjoys blowing things up. Price: 1 Slot a day

Overhiveman Talatar (Antless)- Will fight for the Antless (Zappa as priority). Demolitions expert. Highly skilled in the use of all weapons. Comes with his own unit of elite Blacksmith Combat Engineers. Price: 2 Slots a day

Sky Lieutenant Larranne (Trillan)- Will fight for Trillan (No Dachi has priority). Larranne is a courageous, capable and charismatic leader for any soldier; but he is himself a fighter pilot. He specialises in drawing up plans to win against massive odds, but can be a bit reckless. He is extremely loyal to the Trillan Special Corps. He flies a souped up Valour Fighter, which is faster and more manouevreable with no additional weapons.
Hiring out price: 2 Slots a day

Diplomat Guardian Nadari (Iridanii)- An excellent diplomat, and accomplished leader. He has mediated many talks and strives to find the best solution for all involved. Does not like aggresive leaders. Comes with a hand held health sapper, and a massively strong shield, given to him by the Trillans. Best used as a diplomat rather than a fighter, but he'll fight if ordered. Price: 3 Slots a day

Aquisitions Expert Sithin (Spideron)- Will fight for anyone who pays. A spy, and a good one, he is great at discovering plans and sabotage. Though he is only armed with a plasma pistol, he does have a portable holo-field, and his skills are better than his equipment. Price: 3 Slots a day

Colony Prince Icarus of Hive Banor (Antless)- Paranoid and violent, but an excellent general. Has led many forces to victory. Loves infantry combat, and carries the ceremonial Antless Quad Blades into battle. Comes with custom Broadsword, with AA missile launcher and underground capability. Hates Terrans and won't fight for them. Likely to leave if asked to fight against Antless. Price: 12 Slots a day

Also, YOU are a general, and can fight if you want.



The longer you have a general, the better they will become.

Factions

If you wish, you can be a part of one of the following factions. Iridanii etc. don't have them, cos I didn't do them.



Terrans - Fairly obvious, normal humans, however they have the best construction abilities of the races. Good at trade and diplomacy and average at both war and science.

Terran Command – The normal Terran military.

Ginn-Sai Jihad – Possessed with a religious hatred of all other species, their main purpose is attempting to destroy any and all non-terrans. They hate the Hive Banor Brood above all.

Raptor Industries Corporate – A non-military venture, this company produces most of the Terran military’s equipment, both ships and weapons. They also construct their own colonies, for purposes of research, trade and construction facilities. They are in direct competion with the Spideron Trade Command and Economic Alliance, which can cause problems. They are on friendly terms with the rest of the Terrans, and the Trillans.



Antless - Look like giant ants that stand upright (almost twice the height of Humans), hive minded but individual at the same time, brilliant at weaponry but tend to use brute force to solve simple scientific problems. Speak with x's and s's accentuated. Good at war, average at trade, science and diplomacy.

Hive Mother Brood – The largest Brood, they make up almost half of all Antless.

Imperial Guard Brood – A Brood dedicated to the protection of all Antless Queens and Kings, they are the royal guard, and would give their lives to protect their charges. Though they are few in number, they are very well trained.

Hive Banor Xenophobe Brood – The second largest Brood, the Banors have historically hated other species, the Terrans in particular. They hold the Ginn-Sai in the highest disgust, and wish to eliminate them above all else.



Trillan - Generally brilliant scientists who don't like war but they can turn their efforts in this direction. They are squid-like, but orange, with one central eye and an armoured shell. They have seven tentacles with 2 lungs in each which can take in gases and allows them to move more lightly. Excellent at science, average at trade, good at diplomacy, not to good at war.

Trillan Council – The general Trillan personel, dedicated to their research and colonization. They dislike religions of all forms, as they belive that species should be above it, and turn to technology instead.

Special Corps – The Trillan military, they are the main defence against any aggressor. They have been know to take ‘preventative measures’ too, a first for the Trillan species.

Technocratic Cult – Hatred by the other two Trillan factions, due to their religious belief in technology. They worship machines, and believe that they will deliver them from mortal life. They dislike all other forms of religion.


Spideron - Often very sneaky and good at manipulating others, always make unfair deals. Look like six legged spider with an almost human head and arms protruding from the front, covering in black fur. They have regeneration ablilities, and their vehicles often incorporate this sort of technology. Brilliant at trade, as they can often find what people need, bad at diplomacy as people don't trust them, average at war and science
Spideron Trade Command – The standard trade minded Spiderons.

Economic Alliance – Extremely trade minded, they barely even use weapons. They prefer to use economic methods to destroy their enemies. Other Spideron groups regard them with some distain, but the Trillans are on very good terms with them because of it.

Aggressive Sales Division – These guys are the military arm of the Spiderons, built for breaking into colonies and forcibly ‘selling’ people items.

ooc: btw it would probably help if the territories were labelled in some way (i.e A1, A2, A3 etc) - would make things a hell of a lot easier.

Oh and I take the longish territory in the middle of the spideron population; the one with forest at it's southern end... my first colony will be on the coast at the dead centre between the left and right borders. In the forest of course.

Bison (lvl 1 - 1 point; self-made): the Bison is a well-rounded medium tank designed for a number of roles. As well as a machine gun for anti infantry purposes it is also sports a cannon as main armament, making it better against vehicles than other Terran tanks.

Field Artillery Gun (lvl 1 - 1 point; self-made): the Field Artillery Battery consists of a field artillery gun that flings high explosive, smoke and gas shells over long range with a reasonable degree of accuracy. Vunerable to counter battery fire, the guns are not self-proppelled and move slowly to new positions. No air defense. Projectiles take horizontal trajectory.

AA Artillery Battery (lvl 1 - 1 point; self-made): basic AAA battery equipped with basic surface-to-air missiles and tracking equipment to defend against enemy aircraft. Takes a while to pack and move to a new location.

Official Colonies Map Nazi Announcement:
The map has been editted at the request of PK and Badger to include mountainous terrain. I have to wait for PK to come online before I can send him the latest version, but when the new physical map does go up, light grey will symoblise mountains terrain and white mountainous terrain high enough for snow to settle.

Brief History: The Xatharc are one of the hundreds of hives that fall under the ultimate control of the Hive Banor. Xatharc is the most recently created and has fallen under the command of former Colony Prince Badger, veteran of the former Aslar campaigns.

Nano-Borer (lvl 1): A Resource Gathering unit that works underground.

Tunneller (lvl 1): The Tunneller is a new unit evolved from the wormitron. It is too small to create tunnels big enough for the average Antless to move through so instead creates complex tunnel networks around hives in order to allow small, fast units to move undetected to surround or ambush enemies. They are not able to attack units above ground but they are able to patrol their tunnels qickly and efficiently by detecting intruders via vibrations.

Razor (lvl 1): Small, fast and deadly. They are smaller than a human with six legs capable of doubling as arms roughly 1m long jointed in three places to allow maximum flexibility. They have evolved purely for fighting infantry at short range. They have been evolved specifically to work in tandem with tunnellers, hence their small size. They excel at ambushing infantry in confined or rocky spaces (forests, mountains etc) however their almost non-existant armour and close in weaponry means they get slaughtered in the open by ranged units.

Soldier Strain (lvl 1): The standard infantry unit evolved personally by Badger through painstaking supervision and guidance. An average Antless Sword Striker has been taken and mutated beyond recognition. First of all the Soldier Strain has been trimmed down and compacted and evolved harder armour to protect against light weaponry/shrapnel giving it a distinctive slim shape. Second of all two glands of highly acidic spray have been added to the top of its mouth which can be used against infantry and light-medium armour at short and point blank range respectivley. The final change is the way it moves and the instruments with which it does. To increase speed the Soldier runs on four legs rather than two. Normal Antless legs are too short and bulky for this so instead the fore and hind legs have been dramatically lengthened and strengthened at the expense of the middle arms which are relegated to slashing victims pinned by other appendages or emergancy backups. Swords have also been deemed 'inefficient'. Instead damage is now dealt either through a more dextrous hand shaped claw on each hand or a razor-sharp ridge that runs along each forearm. It is able to pounce relativley long distances using its powerful hind legs.

Fighter Strain (lvl 1): The basic fighter of the Xatharc it is a quick and extremely maneuverable unit, clinging to its underside are 4 smaller creatures each of which carries 3 glands inside it. The largest gland contains a large store of acid while the other two carry chemicals that when mixed create an explosive force that can be used to propel it forwards or detonate it causing the acid to hit nearby aircraft. The wings on these 'missiles' don't actually allow it to fly but are capable of steering it or gliding to allow it to clear the fighter before going after a target. The actual fighter itself has next to no armour and no actual armament aside from the 'missiles' it carries meaning once those 4 are used up it must return to rearm.

Hurler Strain (lvl 1): A basic artillery unit, packets of explosive, acidic or other chemicals are propelled long distances onto the battlefield by highly pressurised gases inside the large beetle like creature. It is slow and vunerable to attack from the air.

Veteran of earlier Alsar campaigns, has an "interesting" history though.
Back working for Terran Command, is to establish a military presence on the planet to make sure (Terran) civilians are protected (and to make sure someone's there in case Badger goes banana's again). Under strict orders not to do anything silly, like he might ( ) have done in earlier ventures.
Lord title is self-appointed.

Generals: Himself, various other 'ranking' officers in his military, no special/hired characters though.

Harrier IIMS/Harrier IIPS (lvl 1 FA) - Basic VTOL fighter aircraft, either equipped with 2 AA Missile Launchers or 2 Proton Cannons. Both versions designed for sorties and combat above the ocean, this including added range, possible deployment from carrier units and optimized sensors. Quite agile and moderately fast/armoured.

Orion S (lvl 1 BA) - Bigger aircraft, more suiting the bomber aircraft class. Equipped with a number of sensor modules, capable of detecting units in the air, on the surface or below the water at a moderate range. Has a small number of counter-measures (not really *that* effective though) but a long range, for long flights. Not really that agile, nor fast. Not well armoured either, but has advantage of being able to move out of the enemies' way.

Guard (lvl 1 OF) - Mostly regarded as ceremonial units, just for the looks of them, these boys do know how to handle their weaponry. Equipped with light armour and plasma rifles, along with a sharp looking uniform, they are better than the standard Troopers. Due to them being guards, they have a better awareness than a number of other infantry kinds.

High in the central spire of the 110th Offworld Regiment's Field Headquarters, which is itself perched atop a mountain ridge in the southeasterly region known by the Terran populance of the world - Alsar Secundus - as Ship Point, for its significence as a naval port. On either side of the Colony, the ridge slopes down sharply to the see below. A kind of valley set into the slope formed a fine natural harbour, which had been transformed by Field Engineers into a naval yard for use by No Dachi's forces. An underground tunnel large enough for the transfer of goods, materials and machinery via slant-elevator from one end to the other links the two points. The Colony was not yet walled or even sporting proper earthwork defenses, but a careful eye would observe camoflaged Heavy Defense Troopers dug in at strategic positions, with a few pickets patrolling the perimeter. A few Bison had found hull-down positions and taken them, masked again by camoflage provided by Field Engineers. The sounds of industry ring through the mountains from the Colony, with factories and construction teams working to full capacity to make the Colony defendable in case of attack. The Major's Regiment was on the planet for military purposes only, and so they were going to prepare for events that might lead to such military purposes coming into play in advance. At present, the Major himself was seated in his office, high in the tower, listening to a report by one of the Intelligence Officers on the progress of the Colony's temporary defenses.

"...Captain Honda's heavy defense company has deployed in a defensive ring around the Colony's perimeter, Captain Honda himself reports that he is satisfied with the current number of troops he has been allocated for the purpose. Captain Jager has placed a request for more armour, but added that the present number of Bison is sufficient for the defense of the base. Squadron Leader Michaels has placed a request for a sensor net to further air defenses. Gunnery Captain Miller is satisfied with the current state of his battery. All four officers agree that we should establish a proper, permament defense structure as quickly as possible - intelligence supports this proposal. This concludes the report, sir."

No Dachi sat in a comfortable, leather-covered reclining chair, booted feet up on his desk. The office was spacious and impressive in its design and decoration - Terrans might not be the best fighters or researchers or the most adept tradesmen, but they were the foremost of the four main species in terms of construction skill. The structure of the Colony was strong, able to resist substantial pounding by enemy fire, but also beautiful in a kind of no-frills, functional way. After a few brief seconds in which he considered the information at hand, he nodded to the intelligence officer.

"Very well lieutenant, dismissed."

The lieutenant snapped a salute, turned on his heel and marched smartly out of the office, one of No Dachi's guards closing the door as he passed through it, leaving the Major alone in his office to admire the panoramic view from his window. On the merit of the advice of his officers, the Major begins to write the construction orders for the day. When he is about half-way through them, the Personal Coms Unit set into his hardwood desk - military issue, using highly encrypted code - chimed. No Dachi pressed a small button next to the screen of the PCU, and the face of the intelligence officer appeared again.

"Sir, Lord Fluffie has arrived on-planet. He has established a Colony in the western half of Suis Van Island."

No Dachi nodded. He has been sent advanced forecast of Lord Fluffie's arrival by High Command. A fellow officer of the loyalist faction, a potential ally.

"Establish contact with Lord Fluffie immediately from this console, encrypt and hide the message."

"Yes sir."

The lieutenant's face dissapears. For a moment the screen dislays only the Terran Command emblem, then it shows Lord Fluffie's face.

"Lord Fluffie, I am Major No Dachi, also of Terran Command. In light of our shared species and faction, I propose a full strategic alliance between our forces."

He had kind of been awaiting the message and had been planning on sending it by himself, in case it wouldn't have come. But it had, so.. That was it. Ensuring his own encryption equipment was fully functional as well, Fluffie answered the 'call'.

"Ah, Major Dachi. It is indeed good to see another Colony Leader serving the Terran Fleet. As for your proposal, I agree, it's the best and smartest thing to do.

I feel the need to.. Name this alliance though. The name "Terran Alliance" springs to mind almost immidiatly, but, well, it might leave a bitter taste in some peoples' mouths."

Leaving it to that, Fluffie thought about his past and wondered how it would be.. 'greeted' on this, all new, all shiny planet.

The image of Fluffie on Dachi's screen nods in agreement.

"Very well, so be it. Guess it's back to getting our respective colonies up and going, but maybe we can meet in person sometime later, maybe make it more official and have a drink or so.

Fluffie out."

After the channel had closed, Fluffie looked out of the window and onto a number of screens in the room he was in. He saw the construction of his colony, how the finishing touches were laid to the initial structure and how a sensors tower was already being raised.

Outside, his small force of infantry, who were more of an internal police like force than an army unit for now, was marching around and doing its everyday stuff. A bit farther away, the first Harrier II's (if allowed) were already finished and moving theirselves into their hangars.

Things were well on the way.. Fluffie just wondered how Badger was doing. Enemy, sure... But, always an interesting one, really.

Rebirth

In the deepest chamber of the Xatharcia Hive something momentous was happening. After decades of campaigning under the title of Colony Prince Badger had finally been chosen for the sacred process of Rebirth. During this process the entire conscience of an Antless would be reabsorbed into the Hive and then reborn into a new shell, a new body.

After being given command of a new Hive it was tradition for this take place in the first hive of the first world it would be sent to. While going through this 14 day process he would be incapacitated, reliant upon his Queens to ensure the Hive ran smoothly and efficiently while his new body took form and grew strong.

Until that time the Rebirthing chamber would be completley sealed off and reinforced against attack from the outside.

Walking around his base with a few of his officers and some Guards nearby, Fluffie watches the larger Orion planes taxi on the runways and then take off, heading towards the horizon. Their mission was quite simple; they were to patrol the area around the island with such an action span that any units inbound to Sluis Van would be detected early enough to scramble the Harriers to intercept well before the units could get into a possible striking range.

That out of the way, Fluffie turned around and returned to his office... His little midday stroll had lasted long enough, the fresh air had done him well, but with the last Orion disappearing over the horizon, work was to be resumed.

"Get more Guards up and ready... They won't really help much, I reckon, but still. Get security up as tight as you can at the moment and position our troops at key locations and entrances. I want to be safe."

Nodding, several officers walked off - beginning to issue orders of their own to get Fluffie's will done.

Researching:
Agusta II (lvl 1 OV) - Light armoured helicopter, with a (turreted) plasma battery on each side; each operated by a seperate gunner. Designed to engage (hostile) ground troops and/or to transport (friendly) troops around. Reasonably fast and agile, each squadron is capable of carrying two infantry units.

Heavy Guard (lvl DF) - Much like their normal counterparts, these units wear parade uniforms. Only instead of plasma rifles, these boys are equipped with proton bazooka's, making them much more effective against vehicles. Their armour remains medium to give them the same fast movement as normal Guards.

'It has been around a week of standard time since Terran Command dispatched two commanders - including the esteemed, self-proclaimed, Lord Fluffie - to Alsar Secundus in response to military deployment to the planet by the Antless. Their arrival has recieved a warm welcome from the Terran civilians of Alsar Secondus, and from the Trillan and Iridannii civilians - all of whom fear a repeat of the Antless expansionism displayed on other worlds of the Alsar System. Thus far, the peace that has made Alsar Secondus a beacon of tranquility during the wars raging around it has held out, though it is clear that the leaders of the military forces of all factions involved are ammassing troops and resources. Apart from light diplomatic traffic, no interaction between the various leaders has been observed, but the situation remains tense. Only time will tell what is held in store for the planet.'

Trillan Tribunal - Alsar Secondus
'Despite increasing tension on Alsar Secondus - home to a substantial Trillan population - the Council has again refused to dispatch Special Corps forces to the planet. In the absense of any military deployment of our own species, the Trillan people of Alsar Secondus have taken some comfort from the presence of two Terran deployments on the planet, those of Lord Fluffie - a staunch veteran of the Alsar System - and Major No Dachi, of whom we know little about. In response to the Terran move, a single Spideron Respected Trader of the Aggressive Sales Division; and no less than three Antless commanders of varying rank and Brood. With these forces now locked in what would appear to be an arms race with eachother, little diplomacy between leaders has been detected, apart from encrypted transmissions between the two Terran commanders. All of this combined threatens the peace of Alsar Secondus that has held since shortly after planetfall by the first settlers of various races. Many Trillan citizens on the planet fear a repeat of the wars on the other worlds of the Alsar System, such as the one that led to the destruction of Alsar Hexus along with countless lives; and that of Alsar Teriarus where Special Corps Admiral No Dachi became bogged down in a defensive war that cost countless Trillan lives. The Council insists that it is doing everything it can to avoid a recount of such scenes of destruction, nut this 'everything' would appear to be nothing.'

Imperial Antless Informer - Hives of Alsar Secondus
'Loyal subjects of the OverKing, even as you read this Imperial-sanctioned news item, three of our great generals - Hive Overlord Isen, Hive Prince Zappa and Hive Prince Badger - are ammassing warriors of the great Antless Empire in preparation to defend the fine Antless civilians of Alsar Secondus from the maniacal aggression of the foul Terran non-empire. It has been nearly a week of standard time since the so-called 'Terran Command' deployed two of its 'commanders' to the planet, no doubt with the intention of subdueing the Antless people thereof and siezing the rest of the planet in their bloodied grip. Let it be known that the OverKing will not tolerate such latent expansionism, for in his wisdom the three fine generals of his choosing have been set the task of defending our interests on the planet. Hive Overlord Isen is himself of the Imperial Guard Brood, and it is certain that with the Emperor taking such a heavy role in the welfare of our people on the planet that the Terran shall flee like the pathetic creatures they are. Already, Hive Prince Badger of the Hive Banor Xenophobe Brood has challenged the Terran 'commanders' over their secret diplomatic transgressions, accusing them of conspiring against the Antless people, and there can be little doubt that he is correct in these allegations. The arrival of a single Spideron 'Respected Trader' on the planet has done little to phase the Antless leaders in their goal of Antless prosperity. With no appearance from the hated Trillan, and such a meager force of the worthless Terran non-empire, there is no way that the forces of the Antless cannot triumph once again on Alsar Secondus. Victory to the Antless people! Victory to the OverKing!'

'With the deployment of substantial Antless and Terran forces to Alsar Secondus, it was only natural that the High Traders' Council would dispatch forces of our own to protect the interests and prosperity of our civilian traders on the planet. Respected Trader Hewitt, veteran and victor of many previous Alsan scenarios and newly-transferred to the Aggressive Sales Division, has now been on the planet's surface for a week and already is working toward the preservation of Spideron wealth. With the Antless and the Terran, predictably, at eachothers' throats, the scope for Respected Trader Hewitt's possible actions on the planet is wide and open. Whatever he does in the end, we can be sure that it will only bring increased dominance of the Spideron over the economies of the other species.'

'Fears for the Iridannii minorities living among Trillan and Terran civilians on Alsar Secondus continue to grow, as no public diplomatic meeting between the leaders of the various forces on the planet emerges. It has now been around a week since Antless and Spideron forces were deployed to the planet, and the same amount of time since Lord Fluffie and Major No Dachi of Terran Command were despatched in response. With the presence of two stalwart servants of Terran Command, a staunch ally of the Iridannii people in the past, a potential exodus of Iridannii civilians from the planet has been narrowly averted. However, with the infamous Hive Prince Badger ammassing forces at his own colony in Antless territory, the peace-loving Iridannii people of the world are still uneasy. Our research on the planet has been disrupted for this reason.'

Hewitt: Ahhh... another planet another opportunity.

*Nearby in this private penthouse of his in Shadir Mogul were two stone faced guards and a few slaves. but it was not they who interested Hewitt at present, rather it was the timid faced aide currently fidgeting in his presence.*

Aide: Respected trader, our scouts confirm the media reports. We have no less then five potential threats to our position here. I don't like those odds sir.

*Hewitt said nothing as he listened to the nervous ramblings of the aide - opting rather to take a sip of the wine that had been served to him. The finest drop of spideron green on this planet in his own option.*

Hewitt: Indeed... two terran commanders and three antless brood masters. Potential threats indeed...

*Hewitt pretended to ponder over this as he eyed his half full wine glass. Actually in his own opinion things couldn't be better. It's just a shame this lowly p0en couldn't see things that way.*

Hewitt: You know what I'm going to do?

Aide: What respected trader?

*Hewitt held back the impending look of disgust - there was actually pitful hope in the beings voice. He'll have to be replaced.*

Hewitt: Nothing.

Aide: What!?

Hewitt: You heard me. *Drains the wine glass and throws it into a nearby fireplace.* We have two very strong sides on this planet at the moment virtually ready to rip out each others throats - and we are on neither. So as any fool should see the best course of action would be to do nothing; letting the two powers destroy each other while we sit back and consolidate our position. Then when it's all over all I have to do is pick up the pieces, clean up the ashes and s'cakars your brethren we have the entire planet to ourselves. Pretty smart huh?

*Hewitt couldn't help but let that last comment ooze with sarcasm but the aide either ignored it or truely didn't notice.*

Aide: Brillant respected trader! Now I see why the high council of traders sent you here.

Hewitt: Yeah... Anyway since your here get me another drink will ya?

Aide: Yes respected trader! Right away respected trader!

*Hewitt watched the idiot bow low repeatly as he rushed from the room. Yes indeed - a replacement will be needed.*
