No, you are trying to justify napping yet another alliance by making someone else look like the bad guy. The only reason ND even considered turned was your emo pm whines about not having #1 planet. Mind you they dropped that like 10 days ago and said straight out they would stick with NFI the whole round and they would have.

everytime i come here the same discussions seem to be going on, amongst the same people, about the same things. makes me think any tactic is fine in PA cos you will just get the same response - YOU GET BITCHED AT!

The only thing I've ever said in pm about top planet was to digitalzero in response to him telling me ND were going to take top planet, one way or another, to which I insisted (just like I did in the OP) that Phant had played harder this round than mythx, and that I objected to the notion of him telling us he was going to "let" us win the round in exchange for us "letting" newdawn have top planet. pm me on irc if you need logs.

I don't get ND's problem. You can still end 2nd wich is the highest achievement you aimed for this round. Congrats!

It really was clear 2 weeks ago that ND was willing to support their T10 planets to the win whereas we decided we'd not escort phant or anyone in an organised way cause that didn't go with our alliance first vibe. But yea you are right top planets are what we're fighting for!!
Anyways, just a small train of tought from a somewhat idle guy
Yesterday we were in a situation where we really were with our backs against the wall. - Asc, App and the occasional opportunist were pinning down our fleets
- ND was outroiding us
- Hitting Asc for the occasional 150 roids / planet didn't weigh up to letting trough every wave asc/app sent and loosing 500 rocks / wave
We debated this situation yesterday and decided the only thing we could do was defending our score lead and cover the waves at our best ability. (note: the smallest mention of hitting ND was countered with a dry NO from nearly everyone involved)
This morning tough this situation changed as it was clear that ND was willing to turn everyones head towards us. Guess this didn't turn out aswell for them as they had hoped. (Quite some fun logs have passed our irc channel since then). Obviously this situation would be even worse then the one we were in already and so the decision was made pretty fast. (alot of nodding and 'yea sure's.)
With us napping App we were able to change yesterday' situation into one where we are actually able to do something worthwile for everyone in nfi, and not just the 3-4 planets that were being lolwaved for days by asc/app now.
We now have NFI napping App and CT (rank 1 - 4 - 5) and ND holding on to their nap with ASC (rank 2 - 3). I guess both 'blocks' are in talks and everyone will have their sides picked by tonight at 04 when our nap to ND will be ended.
Let's see eachother at the battlefield and have atleast 9 more days of fun!

The reality is neither of them have played particularly hard relative to most previous rounds.
You continue to quibble about who said what, as a diversion the substantive issue that you NAPed another top5 alliance in response to no change from your supposed 'opposition block' of which there is precious little evidence since App deserted it.

Im not faulting NFI for playing politics well, ur success at always maintaining favourable odds is impressive indeed.

There is no need for justification of any kind. This is PA. You want to wage war - just do it.
Everyone is looking forward to some serious clash between the two big dogs. Your PR officer should have told you that you would get best reps by just stating "Tired of NAPing - going for ND!"
On the other hand - the same officer should have told ya to not publish vids of yourself draped in a towel

I'll post something when round is about to end from the start to last thursday when I stopped HC:ing if someone didn't know about that already. Call it a lecture of planning a round win before it starts.. and executing it inside pax mechanics.
Let's just say I liked to cook the stuff until thursday as I was only cheff but when there's too many hands trying to help when the soup is almost ready.. it just ain't worth of the effort and my time.
Anyways gl to NFI, I'll send now and then my def fleet but that's about it as I won't come to IRC due to I can't do anything without taking control.

true as far as it goes: this is not war its propaganda.
As to alliances 1, 4 & 5 - vs 2 & 3, its all up in the air ftm, all we are saying is the fact u had to find a substitute for your ND NAP before you dropped it is kind of lame.

Us having no options except for defending where we could did mean we were with our back against the wall. It's not cause we didn't get steamrolled by a load of planets as the might asc has been in the past that we had more then 1 course of action and were not pinned down in the situation we were in.

Sorry didn't intent to post again this fast - but then I discovered this excellent piece of fictional literature.
Do you have any idea what your top planets do while you are not looking?
Do you have any idea why exactly so many ppl are annoyed by your top planet(s)?

maybe i should have put bold tags around the word 'organised' which i deliberately put there to make my point clear. We were not willing to organise teamups/escorts/... for our topplanets.

So that covers ND/CT/Osi, to the best of my knowledge.
We told ND when we made our NAP that we'd not target them or break the nap, but if they beat us by roiding more effectively then credit where credit's due etc.

Yes, I'm aware he pissed a lot of people off, but personally I'd rather Phant won after pissed a couple of people off but being made to fight for his rank, than Mythx won after not having been challenged at all in the last 700+ ticks. Nothing personal, Mythx - you played as best you could in the political climate NFI and ND created over the universe, but I still don't think you've 'earned' your right to be where you are. You have 9 days to prove me wrong.
|
That will be not interested in planet ranks, just in phants planet? maybe he counts as a galaxy?
That ND said they would attack him in the last few days if he was winning, while unpleasant, would not be relevant since at the time of the NAP being broken, he was 2nd, and so ND would have no need to carry the threatened attack out.
Although tbh I was really talking bout you being knocked off top spot as an alliance in my first response.

Re: Mehh
From an Apprime standpoint we were willing to help ND as much as we possibly could till round end hitting NFI and trying to get them a win. They didn't have the balls to go for it and were happy sitting in 2nd place till round end. Guess NFI got greedy, but ND really only have themselves to blame. Good luck, don't implode and you'll still get that 2nd place that you so crave.

Yeah, ok. I acted on information that I was about to be stabbed in the back by taking countermeasures and ending the agreement on our terms.
That is going against what I originally said I guess, but I wouldn't put it down to getting greedy.

Re: Mehh
lol londo. You are one of my favourite posters.
in regards to Phant's escorts, I told a couple of our crashers that their punishment for crashing was escorting Phant for some roids for "the next few days", as this served a greater purpose than outright kicking them for failing (hi 'CrashKing RaiN' and Jinstarro!), and I did so because I felt that Phant deserved planet win more than mythx (who COME ON has also had escorts (which may or may not be disguised as teamups)). As far as flagshipping goes, that's pretty much it. We haven't changed the alliance style of play to favour any particular group or individual, apart from forcing fleets grounded to fend off lolwaves/fc's.

Ah ok. The bold would have totally erased the fact that you (or at least a considerable part of your alliance) actually did.
If you care for elaboration find me on IRC because continuing in this thread is pointless.

Simple answer.
They are scared because somone saying to them;
"You know that ND and some others are planning to attack you and steal your #1 ally place?"
[NFI] then starting to mate their braincells and suddenly they see that it actually IS possible to steal their #1 spot.
They all say; "Ohhh we have a secure win now."
But this is PA, the only thing that's secure here is that nothing are secure
I guess they all eating loads of chicken, and forgott all about "You become what you eat."

Let's see eachother at the battlefield and have atleast 9 more days of fun!

berten , you shouldnt be in that alliance , you have to much honor to be in it

And ND, I expect, will be working with Asc, (so already the two biggest alliances outside of NFI), xvx (because Phant pissed them off), VGN (who apparently don't like us) and ODDR (due to doddy's friendship with unimatrix no doubt).
Meanwhile we have spoken to app and CT about hitting NewDawn, App nap'd us and CT are thinking it over.
I don't mind people talking about all the what-ifs and what-could-have-beens, but I'm not outnumbering anyone, merely trying to ensure that "everyone who isn't NFI or CT hit NFI now" doesn't happen, which is perfectly reasonable.

@Kenny
seriously, for a bloke who is willing to post a vid of himself in just a towel, you are certainly coming across as rather insecure! It smacks of a blatant attempt to get everyone to attack ND for some obscure treachery NFI suffered at their hands. why even make this thread?

You seem to be implying that phant deserves #1 more than mythx. News-flash, they have both done very little to "deserve" it in terms of involvement in a war, hitting hard targets, not using escorts etc etc. Phant got serious incs from us once and in the end the difference on the wave that got through were the 6 or 7 xvx bs fleets that joined us. Why? Because of his hilarious threat to roid all xvx planets this round. Regardless of who actually ends up winning this round planet-wise, nd or nfi, I'll try to spare a few minutes from my busy schedule to suicide enough people into phant to ensure it's not him.

Dropping ND nap means being exposed to every alliance that isn't CT - ND were given that opportunity to hit us with everyone and they turned it down about 9 days ago (we know this as you yourselves came to us moments after they said no and offered us an avoidance agreement so you could all bash NewDawn, which we refused) (consider us even on that front, nd!).
|
Who on earth pmed you? Pretty sure it wasn't me. Either way I doubt they were speaking for more than their own alliance as this is the first I've heard of anything seriously offered like that.

Now the ND nap is being dropped, literally anything could happen, including us losing the tag win.

I'm sure someone else has said this in the intervening 90 posts but lol.

Fair question.
I'd disagree about the insecurity though. In fact, apart from CT I haven't asked anyone to join in. I only asked CT because NewDawn have basically been treating them like mugs for the whole round and thought they should be given the opportunity to get some retribution. I heard that NewDawn were of the impression that Hex were in our 'block' so pm'd Kai to see what was going on, he said he'd told Digizero 'no' when asked to help hit NFI. I then told Hex not to get involved and put themselves at risk of a bashing by helping us.
I also spoke to Osi to find out what their take on the matter was to see what their intentions were - and you can confirm this with them as well, I never once asked for help in hitting newdawn (even though Digizero asked them for help hitting us). All I've asked of Osi is to let me know what they intend to do.
In regards to the actual thread - I thought it best maybe explain to some degree why what was happening is happening. Besides, AD's notoriously shit - it's about time something happening in PA that was worth talking about.
Nothing to do with an insecurity

Re: Mehh
So you are arguing that "Would you be interested in hitting NFI" is a backstab coming from ND, but NFI can go around asking "Where do you stand in the current political situation"? Because that's just an absurd reason to drop a nap. Both questions serve the same ****ing purpose, to find out what the alliance is planning on doing if certain events occure.

I don't recall. It might have been Isildurx that pm'd tzu and made the request, but you'd have to ask him.
And come on JBG, I'm not claiming a moment of brilliance - we'd just managed to start communicating objectively too
