dont know if anyone can help out, but i figured its worth a try.

i lost my mobile over the weekend and informed by service provider (o2 online) they have since blocked my mobile and sim, as i wanted, and are now sending me a replacement sim card. alls good so far, now the problem is i have no mobile now to put the new sim card in. i dont really want to go out and buy a cheap nasty phone as i would be eligible for an upgrade in 1-2 months anyway.
my query is, does anyone know of a reason i cant just order a new phone and contract and cancel my old contract?

do you have some kind of insurance on your old mobile?

otherwise just go to o2, explain the situation etc etc

however, this will cost you a bit more i think, but if you stay nice and kind you could get away with it....

will have to try their helpline tomorrow night i guess, see if i can blag me a new handest and contract

You'll be able to cancel the contract when it runs out.

You can cancel it but they'll want the money and if you try to get another contract with O2 after you cancelled the contract (in such a manner), they might decline you.

The easiest method to this all is get yourself a very cheap pay as you go phone. I hear they go around £20 in my shop. Once you're due for an upgrade, you get a new phone and you keep the pay as you go as spare phone (in case you lose your new phone) lying around in your house.

That would be an option too, get one from O2 tho, as they are most likely simlocked anyway.

Come to think of it, that is the way to go, especially if you wanna stay with O2, this way you always have a spare phone.
