Re: i won the first prize today
What would be really good is if this thread got little to no replies and quickly dropped off the front page of GD or alternatively was deleted by koen when he realised how much of a faggot it makes him look like.

Except when I do it. I get away with it for being a cheeky rapscallion (as MM would say if he was present).

Re: i won the first prize today
I'm wondering how to pronounce Koen... is it Ko -N, Cone (ie. rhyme with bone), maybe even Coo-en?
Just being curious; people read usernames in their heads, and may be mentally pronouncing it in a completely wrong way. Another example would be Baron Morte... does he intend us to think of it as Mort or Mort-ay?
For all we know, JaKiri could be pronounced Yak-eye-rye

Re: i won the first prize today
here's my chance to pretend it's wun-dash-eeks or something
one x was the intention... no-one has ever mentioned where I nicked it from (pardon the pun)
it's worrying close to "wanks" when looked at phonetically 'w&n'eks

Koen is clearly "Ko Enn".
edit: Or possibly "Ko Unn".

I've always pronounced it Ko-en with a diphthong. Cant spell it phonetically because of the vowel transition, but would sound more like "qwen" than any of the aove.

Its not derailing. It's sustaining via a change in direction
Quote:
Roberto: Man I hate those new 1-X robots. I'd like to stab 'em! Give 'em some of these! [He starts stabbing the air with his fist.] Haha! Ha! Haha!
Bender: Yeah, right on nutcake!
Roberto: Parole officer says I gotta upgrade or he won't give me back my stabbing knife. But it's no big. I hate those 1-X so much I know it won't affect me. [A piece of machinery grabs him and lifts him off the conveyor belt and puts him on the upgrade machine. His arms are clamped to the machine and something comes down around his face.] Death to the 1-X robots! [The upgrader throws a switch and the upgrade starts. Electricity zaps around Roberto's head then suddenly stops. The thing around his face comes away.] I love those magnificent 1-X robots! The 1-X robots are my friends.
Bender: W-W-Wait, what happened to your enthusiasm for stabbing them?
Roberto: I'm past that. Later blood!

this is what I had in mind when I asked - Koen looks like cow+n to us, but I seemed to remember Ronald Koeman being pronounced Koo-man?

It had it's moments, like all eps. I'd been watching it just before signing up, hence the inspiration.

Re: i won the first prize today
brits or call me 'koon' (with the long oo) to take the piss, or 'co-hen' because they don't know any better, or realise it pisses me off when they pronounce it that way.
so from now, call me "Ace".

I got a beer from a mate, who opened it prior to handing it to me.
There were no questions involved.

Re: i won the first prize today
keep in mind how you pronounce that "o" in 'do' (just do it - in the non-dexter kinda way)
sounds pretty much like the "oe" in 'koen'
