keyboard experiment
It's monday morning and you are looking for something to pass away a bit of time before the horrible relization that the weekend is over and you have to do some work dawns on you. so, as part of my interesting scientifimical experiment (I'm a physicist by the way - ho ho) I just torned over my keyboard and shook it over the desk, and a rather startling amount of rice, bits of chocolate, biscuit and so on fell out. so fair gentlemen (and occasional ladies) what comes out when you shake your keyboards?

Re: keyboard experiment
A lot of hair, and far too much black lumps of dirt. And lots of bits of crisps.
This is my work keyboard though. I don't really want to turn my home keyboard upside down, it'd scare me.

Re: keyboard experiment
when i normally turn my keyboard upside down (I do do it now and again) there is generally a lot of dust, a lot of tobacco, and a little bit of weed (but not enough to make a joint from )

Re: keyboard experiment
Nothing, as it is a new keyboard. Usually brown stuff that doesn't quite qualify as dust though.

It's kinda scaring: After the toilet, the keyboard is the most dirty place in the house

Re: keyboard experiment
I spilt beer on my keyboard once and instinctively leaned down to suck it up... worst thing ever

mine's like that. I never quite work out how the pubes get in there. It's not like anyone uses their keyboard for some sort of support system while they look at porn :/

Re: keyboard experiment
What surprised me wasn't what came out of the computer, no pubes as I keep my clothes on while typing. What surprised me was how long I had to shake the damn thing before things quit coming out of it.

Nothing.
I just opened the drawer of my computer desk and there's a bra-pad there though.

My new keyboard... a little bit of hair.... not a great deal.
My old keyboard... About 1/4 litre of milk.
Sigh.

I got loads of them annoying littleleftoverroundbits from when you use hole punch. The reason being that I dropped it not so long ago and spilt the damned things everywhere.

Re: keyboard experiment
Nothing. I frequently use one of those miniture vacuum cleaners. It fits in your hand, and is battery operated; comes complete with it`s own small dust collecting bag which can be opened up to empty it. Only costs £2.99. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...=25321&doy=9m8. Works a treat

Hairs get everywhere, especially if you live in a shared house. I`ve even found other flat mates gf`s stuff on my clothes at work; ( blond and Red) even thou they`ve moved out weeks or months ago. Nothing in my keyboard thou

Re: keyboard experiment
the can of compressed air is more fun. plus if any flies or the sort land on your desk, you can turn it upside down and spray liquid air/propellant onto it, freezing the bugger

Re: keyboard experiment
I recently used our new Vacuum cleaner to get all the crap out of my old keyboard.
The keys made a nice chinking sound as they were sucked off (ooh er matron) and swallowed.
My new keyboard is pretty clean atm
