I love PAOL...Here are two different versions.

Actually I am at the point I may go back to just playing these, PA has dumbed down this game so much that I just get exiled constantly. Just no IRC in PAOL.

It worked just like PA of that round, cept you played against all bots.

Thinking about it....back then even in the real PA we probably played against some bots....but in this version you know its all bots. It was something fun to do between rounds or if you just needed a fast PA fix.

It is nice to see other players that like to spend some time with Paol.
There is one more version where you could send attack command to Bots but the fight would not start(meaning you can't roid anyone).
Too bad nobody wants to continue the work from Paol 3 and make it have the SAVE option.
i have the 2.7.7 / 3.8.4 / 2003 beta / version 3 of PAOL. I uploaded them online.
I know it is bad to lose them and it will make a great day for someone who finds them.

If i make at least 1 player happy then i am glad. took me 3 days to find paol on my old machines.will make time in weekend for a go.

Does anyone have the knowledge to continue the work? The SAVE option on version 3 would do great

i will try to find someone that will continue the work and at least make a SAVE command.
I will try to find the alpha version where you could send attack/defend command to bots and maybe try to combine that one into 2003 version

I had a dream like this PAOL many years ago for limited internet use. I designed plans for the technology tree and units. Since another favorite game of mine was Starcraft, I made all the units based on Terran, Zerg, and Protoss units, wraiths, hydras, ground combat marines, zerglings, etc. I didn't know the formulas and that's where Planetarion was helpful in making the stats work. However, I didn't have the resolve to progress past an in-game template and menu buttons. Would it hurt ownership to download an engine of later rounds, the purposes being for a practice mode and making the game customizable? Or a standalone version of PA modified enough to respect copyrights.

I have a whole bunch of old PAOL versions on my PC, some of them broken. Also, of the most recent ones (3.8.3 (which works) and bravo (which has still some features required)) are present as delphi project files.

hello

I know that the post is old but I also wanted to look again at paol.
my problem is only that he shows only half. so the picture is shifted to the right.
I have somehow the possibility to switch to window display ?
I think it is because I have 2 displays connected.
if I use only one display, then it works.
