Little help here guys.
Oh, if someone could put the following into a poll for me?
- Iraq
- Three month CP course then Iraq
- Afghanistan
- Balkans (UN Peacekeeping)
- Canada (actual policing duties on British garrisons)
- Germany (as above)
All have their downsides, all have their plusses. I've not been told I'm going somewhere, so I'm going to volunteer for one of the above - just can't decide what one.
Getting shot at / killed isn't an issue before you all instantly discount Iraq. I'm tempted to go with the Balkans simply because I'll get a medal for that and not for any of the others.

Re: Little help here guys.
Erm the Balklands is a mind-**** of a place. Depending where you'll be stationed it could be fine, it could be hideous.
My Uncle commanded a UN misson to there, 7 years later him and 40% of his unit have comitted suicide.
Iraq and Afganistan are just crazy, do NOT volunteer for either as these represent the greatest chance of getting killed or maimed for life or messed up in the head.
Canada and Germany would seem to be the easy options with almost zero chance of being killed/maimed/executed/set on fire/beheadded/witness gruesome sights.
I'd personally go with one of those two, prob Canada cause I don't speak German.
Don't be a hero and try for something that you know will be a hideous experience, as macho bravado wears off quite quick when you can't sleep at night and suffer from Post Traumatic Stress.

Why do you get a medal for going to a set of Islands in the middle of the Atlantic?

This is a serious question.
Are MM and skiddy actually in a gay relationship?

Yeah, I can go down and do a two week additional course on top of what I've done and thats it, but there's a different one which is three month CP training then six month tour working CP - which is obviously the one to go for as you get to do cool stuff like play with MP5's, drive dangerously in Audi's and walk around foriegn countries with 9mm Pistols.

Germany
Far too much beer, towns built solely on brothels, and a lifestyle that suits you (reasonably attractive , very easy to get to know women).

Re: Little help here guys.
the do a cp course then go to iraq sounds like that simpsons episode where homer does a bodyguard course then goes to protect the mayor
anyway skiddy the balkans route sounds the most interesting
a) chances of getting your bollocks shot of are less (MM cares)
b) you get a medal that us civilians will take seriously even if the military peeps don't
c) you can recce (military quote ya know) out any cheap properties for a holiday home
d) theres drink arse girls and feck in the balkans
e) iraq and afghanistan are no drink no arse no girls no feck lose bollocks
f) germany and america junior are far far too boring.

Re: Little help here guys.
- Iraq: no beer. no women. faggots get beheaded. kinda like high school.
- Three month CP course then Iraq: see Iraq
- Afghanistan: see Iraq
- Balkans (UN Peacekeeping): Beer. Women. Faggotry++. And medals 2 for U.
- Canada (actual policing duties on British garrisons): They speak English. You 'know' people in Canada.
- Germany (as above): Beer. Women. Faggotry. Some of em speak english.
I'd say Balkans. It seems that it has everything for you, but I'm assuming by your question that you are actually interested in "something different."

No, I don't mind really. I'd be happy with any of the above other than Canada or Germany, which I doubt I'd enjoy as much as the other four, I was just giving you all my options.

The same reason every other country that isn't on isn't on.
Although, feel free to call someone who hold significant rank in the British Armed Forces or a member of Parliament and enquire as to why we are not invading / providing aid to Africa

Re: Little help here guys.
It's about to get very very cold in Canada like -20 to 30 celsius cold.
Germany is shit in the winter.
Iraq is nice from what I hear in the winter, 70 farenheit and rainy. I'd go now rather than 3 months later though as 3 months later means you'll prolly still be around when it starts getting warm again and apparrently that's the worst thing about being out in iraq.
Balkans will be too cold...
Afhganistan is going to be very cold and also is not going to enjoy as many civil amenities as Iraq, like roads and stuff.
So my tip is Iraq and my reasoning is genuine.
