I think you're entitled to a G Stew.... Unless I'm wrong.
Shame Inferno got 2-0 the other way round.
And I'm back on winning ways.

Re: [Football] Prediction League - DS9
while I think about it.... I'd like your opinions again
We could either
1. continue this league until next May, or
2. end it around Xmas/New Year when we're halfway through the season and start a new one.
Please don't base your opinion on how well you're currently doing...
I'm happy for the league to continue as it is, but a new start would make it easier to fill the vacancies, people could choose different teams if they wanted, I could improve* the scoring system etc.
*needlessly tinker with

Re: [Football] Prediction League - DS9
actually I'd let people change teams at any time if they wanted - as long as the team they're swapping to is vacant, random (except ManChelArse), or owned by someone who wants to change too.
We have to consider the possibility of giving new players a starting bonus, maybe one point for each game they missed? Also, I think bringing back "almost" 2 points for correct goal difference might lead to less draws, and "named last goalscorer" could replace "time of first goal"?
in January, a separate competition for the FA Cup will probably be starting and the Champions League gets more detailed in February for those still in it, so by the end of the season you'll all be sick to death of predicting anyway

Re: [Football] Prediction League - DS9
I've added the vacant teams to the random pool so that as long as two of them play each other, I can leave them out and then only one person has to play against no-one. That makes sense to me which is all that matters

Re: [Football] Prediction League - DS9
I'd still like a few opinions on whether you want to continue this league all season or reset at new year?

Reset at new year would be my vote.

at the risk of repeating myself, I don't mind which option we go with. I'll only end it early if there is an overwhelming majority in favour.
I suggested it because finding replacements for the vacancies is really hard mid-season (and starting them with a point per missed game boost is unfair on those who've got less), and current players might leave/miss predictions eventually when they feel they have no chance of winning.
A new start would allow a scoring system change for less draws too, and ending with 5 or 6 games notice would make for an interesting finish (this is what scares you, your arsenalesque mid-season jitters )

Re: [Football] Prediction League - DS9
after this weekends games, I'll PM the top 5 and ask if they want to reset at new year or continue till May . They're the ones fighting for #1 and so have most to lose from a reset. A straightforward democratic majority will decide.
