Sandmans says Denial 'lost' the fleetcatch (Den down more than Asc). Wanting to be congratulated for this implies that Denial no longer want/think they can win as an alliance. Is this a fair assessment?

It doesn't look like NewDawn are being used as puppets; we tried to win & failed. ND enjoy a good fight and having good targets to hit. The alternative is to sit around doing nothing, and I think ND will gain enjoyment from helping defeat their round-long rivals. Assuming ND want to maximise utility, this is a sensible, self-centred choice.
