I'm not sure why, but I've instantly had Left Outside Alone by Anastasia burst into my mind when reading this
I used to stand in the shower and listen to this track on repeat, but in my mind was a heavy rock version with power chords and Axl Rose crying the lyrics out in his usual fasion. The drum pauses and timings were true and emotional, the beat was strong.
