One player who has to take some of the blame for england's exit is steven gerrard. After a unbelievable liverpool season in the two crunch games against france and portugal he was pretty much non-existent. His passing was not good enough, his surging runs weren't as evident, his box-to-box play was nothing on some of the greats, I don't remember any great saving tackles or blocks he made. England have to have an actual midfield instead of just picking the four best midfield players who are english.


PS When I was watching england during the national anthem, campbell and cole were the two who looked most up for it heh.
