Name: Andrew "Qurk" Huqurkalatamal

Background: Andrew was born in 2014 in South America. His parents were French, having moved to Panama to work. His father was a GP and his mother an engineer, who helped research and develop components of the first WAVs, especially for their movement. In 2019, the family moved to New York City, where Mr. Huqurkalatamal found a job in the local hospital and Mrs. Huqurkalatamal joined a company that developed military vehicles (although not WAV/Es). The reason for the move was partly due to the job offer at the vehicles company, but also because of the Huqurkalatamals dislike of the Majestic Inc.'s domination and imposition in industries and businesses in Panama.

Andrew's mother often brought her work home, teaching him about it, which gave him a good knowledge of how various military vehicles worked. This was what led to him joining another branch of his mother's company in 2030 - involved in the repair of severely-damaged or faulty vehicles. Although an excellent mechanic, Andrew joined the NYPD several years later when the military-vehicles company ran into difficulties.

As a police officer, Andrew became a crack shot with pistols and passed all exercises with flying colours. Andrew was not promoted far, due to his unfortunate habit of not being assigned to places where he would regularly run into major incidents. Mostly he lived a fairly average career. His colleagues nicknamed him "Qurk", which came to be what everybody called him.

He joined a mechanics club, where people would spend time taking complex components apart and then practising putting them back together again. Back at the NYPD, Andrew earned some good money fixing police cars in his spare time.

During the chaos of the 2030s, Andrew made a living salvaging parts of wrecked vehicles to build new ones.
