Contrary to popular believe eXilition does not have all the good players in PA. They have to take in people like me for example (best rank: 468 with Destiny) but they know how to mobilize and motivate those weaker players to make them look so much better.

I wasn't trying to say that eXilition overblocked - as we saw from the opposing block that inevitably sprung up each time, which was never completely inferior. You might have had your pick of allies, but there's plenty of others around.

As for having good players, 1up had Zhil

Besides, it's not all about what players bring to an alliance on the score side. Some are great for keeping the morale up (e.g. very active in channels), others are dedicated officers, others are experienced scanners. There's no shame in never having an amazing planet (my best rank: 231 in Round 16).
