It makes sense, especially in countries like Australia where sources of fresh water is becoming a more serious concern.

Wouldn't we also slide into a depression with less people to buy the goods nobody needs but are all told will make us better human beings?*
*better as in more attractive/enviable/powerful, as opposed to any philanthropic ideas of betterness
