"Violent criminal" is a fairly broad term and includes all sorts of people (bank robbers, football hooligans, etc.) So yes, on average probably this is true.

However, I don't see how someone who rapes (say) a very old woman is any better than someone who rapes a kid. They're both pretty appalling. And in certain circumstances (which are yet to be fulfilled) I wouldn't object to shooting them.

And yeah, I'd do if it necessary, I'm not really interested if their family was watching or what type of gun I used.
