Actually you can't because I don't know who I support at the present time. Both parties seem rather shit to me. I am disaffected on many fronts. However, when someone comes forward and says that the best thing for the US is a Democrat dominated government, I have a lot of hesitation. For most of my life I WAS a Democrat. My family are all Democrats. My grandfather was an American Socialist. However, after many years of listening to the Democratic rhetoric and comparing it to what they actually produced, I became very disillusioned. People talk about the 12 years of Republican supremecy. However, the Democrats were in power, almost exclusively, in congress from 1932-1994.

Nancy Pelosi is as big a hipocrite as you can find. She champions minimum wage reform while denying raises to the employees in the businesses she is involved in. She takes money from the Labor Unions, yet refuses to let her businesses organize. (You may be interested to know that I am rather pro union, having been a shop steward in one union and a member of the board of directors during my career.) Nancy (who is from a nearby district to the one I am in) gets in the news a lot around here and I haven't seen anything about her that I like. On the other hand I have regularly voted for Democratic Senator Dianne Finestein who while wrong on some issues seems to genuinely care about what she is doing rather than just about feathering her political nest, most of the time.

I expect about as much out of Pelosi's First Hundred Hours as I did out of the Republicans' Contract with America......not much except grand standing.
