if your brand new to planetarion then the best starting point is probably to register yourself a nickname with the irc network that the game uses. You can do this at http://www.netgamers.org

You cant use a hotmail address, and its not a good idea to use a yahoo address (as both places filter the netgamers registration emails for some odd reason). After you have done their you should drop into #p3nguins. We dont typically recruit people who are brand new to the game but you can always drop in for a chat anyway! And some of our nicer members will even help you sort out some of the startup stuff!
