they didn't do it for profit. they did it because they wanted to be appreciated by their peers.
if someone takes your work and makes a profit it's only right (yes there are no laws, it's just common decency) to give some of that back to you.
but that isn't even the main issue. the main issue is that credit was not given where credit was due.
you realise that you're killing the souls of those you teach?
