Saddam posed no threat to the UK. One could easily argue that chechen seperatists did for russia. Chechenya is russian territory. Iraq is far away from UK, etc etc.

When the UK decides to annex Iraq and proceeds to hold onto the region for over a century against the wishes of its people, repeatedly using violence against all seperatist movements including an incident of borderline genocide where
the entire country is deported and forced into concentration camps causing around 25% of
the entire ethnic population to die, followed by yet more decades of wars against seperatists each one resulting in tens of thousands of casualties, then maybe you can make a serious comparasion with Chechyna.
