Still if indeed they wanted to murder someone wouldn't they have made a "clean" assassination, leaving no evidence behind? With the method that was used there was plenty of room for Litvinenko to reveal a lot of information to authorities while being treated.
Anyway it is a really complex case with a lot of scenarios.
