Unless you were asleep yesterday evening, you might have noticed Angels attacking planets that were attacking a certain Exilition top planet at the time. Given these "coincidences", we can fairly well assume who gave Angels those targets. Further assuming, if it was so, giving and accepting targets sounds like coordinating attacks and cooperating with retaliations to me.
If these assumptions hold, it looked, at least to me, like a step into the war on Exilition's side more as an ally than not.
