Re: External DVD Writers
Liteon make perfectly good drives. I find them to be quite reliable.

You can get internal DVD writers for as little as £25, and you'd be hard pushed to find one for more than £40 (unless you're after other gimmickery like slot loading). Looking at external drives for £40 or thereabouts isn't going to get you something that was thrown together by some russian peasant using sticks and a rock.

I wouldn't touch Sony's stuff. It's not worth it.
