The population of the Bahamas is 85% black, so I'd say it was implicit, unless the story said that the woman had sex with someone who happened to be a wealthy landowner or something. Usually in these "stories" the guy is supposed to be relatively poor - e.g. he's a waiter or barmen, etc.
