It's possible to find local farms that will breed much higher quality stock, that will taste better, under humane conditions. You'll just have to pay for it - ask a local butcher. Free range eggs as seen in supermarkets are a bit misleading as the conditions are basically the same as barn eggs except with an outside area of some description.
