maybe make this feature (to see failed scans) a researchable one. so you could research to intercept failed scans. if you dont research it, you dont see failed scans in your news.

or maybe you could configure to show/hide failed scans in your preferences.

this would make both parties (the ones that do want to see failed scans and the ones that dont) happy.
