I truly wish that was the way the system worked, but it doesn't.

The rep system is pointless, and I more or less treat it that way. I only check it nowadays because like someone else said it's become sort of a secondary messaging service.. things that really aught to be posted in threads end up as rep comments. I don't think I've ever recieved a neg rep that didn't belong in the post rather than being a fair critiscism of my post.
