Frank watched 3 of the marines volunteer for a Search and Rescue, and the other 2 go for routine patrols.

He supposed that the technican mission was more suited to him, but as there was noone to buddy up with, he reconsidered it. Why was a buddy system "strongly suggested"? He thought for a second, and decided that as the job for Option #1 seemed to be mostly shifting debris, his skills would be as useless as they would for the other two jobs.

"I'll join you on the patrolling, if that's ok Sir" he said to the commanding officer, with the name "DYLAN" written in block capitals on the left side of his chest. "Private Byrn, Technician Class III"

Donning his armour, and ensuring his gun was equipped properly, he looked up.

"Shall we head off then?"
