This was written after I saw a meteorology professor from LSU who was the first I had seen who had suggest such a possibility. This was 36 hours ahead of landfall. My post about 24 hours before. This professor was pretty much alone in his prediction for another 12 hours from what I could observe and the press is usually pretty alarmist about such things. Up to then they had been predicting rain-effect flooding which would have been troublesome but not as catastrophic as what happened.
