Just so this post isn't entirely pointless I've become a big fan of dan simmons new books, illium and olympos. If you're looking for a really innovative approach to science fiction read those books.

yeah, I realized that, thats why I normally do more talking than actually playing.
I can'T read sci-fi books, and until recently, I couldn't watch sci-fi movies/shows. I really still am uninterested, but nowadays if one comes on I can at least sit through it.
