What point are you trying to make? That a democracy means people have the right to throw eggs at democratically elected people? I don't think they do and should be trying to explain themselves in a police station at the moment.
And for any workable democratic system (with 60million people), simply voting once every x years is
exactly what a democracy boils down to for 99% of the people (as well as freedom of speech [within the laws stipulated by the said democracy] and similar such things - throwing eggs at people is not included).
