I'd take Rooney and play 4-5-1 until the quarter-finals.

I'd also keep Beckham in the team over Lennon, even when playing 4-4-2. This may be heresy to some of you, but he does contribute something major to the team - the ability to play superb balls in to our little strikers' feet.

If we play Lennon, we need to play Downing too in a proper 4-4-2 with wingers. There's no point having one winger without another.
