History: The Middle child in a moderately wealthy noble family in Bristol. He had six sisters and the dowries for all of them left the family with much less money for David to live on. To remedy this David decided to take to the Sea in the Royal Navy. His skills and background got him a commission.

He was assigned to the West Indies and found himself second officer aboard the eight gun sloop-of-war, Dignity. The Dignity was mostly assigned to deal with smugglers. They have recently followed a group of smugglers to Curacao which is no surprise considering it is the largest free port in the world.
