Trolling implies he is aware that he is wrong, and I don't think he is aware.

It's understandable that racism is an issue s|k feels strongly about, considering the attitudes of his family and co-workers. It's unfortunate that he has directed his anger at the wrong people over the misunderstanding of a little known or used slang term though.
