Zhil used to write some pretty good stuff but it was more based around the alliances than the races.

I think that Zikonians were supposed to be made up of lots of very small robots - not sure where I read that! The idea was that they took over other ships.

The Xandathrii Horde were similar to Aliens (the film) and the Zerg in Starcraft.

Cathaar were supposedly noble and stuff!

Terrans were just humans.

Eitrades - mercenaries I guess?
