It's debatable that anyone can easily become energy self-sufficient (you can produce a surplus of electricity over time, but once you consider how much of that would be lost in transmission vs the energy costs in making the physical items in your home I'm not sure if you would genuinely be self-sufficient). But what's your point anyway? That there are no energy problems? That we shouldn't really worry about carbon emissions because there's always problems?

I don't really understand what you mean here. Yes, any energy production is going to have some drawbacks (probably). So what? So we shouldn't try to save energy?
