Despite his unorthodox descriptions, Fluffie is mostly correct.

During the 2030s, a series of world wars broke out over the globe, largely the result of terrorist attacks that were suspected of being state-supported. Naturally, various nations accused either other of being behind the attacks, and war eventually broke out. Eventually, the situation deteoriated to the point where the nations could no longer wage war, or even support their people for that matter.

In response, a number of the surviving nations banded together to share resources for rebuilding, and ultimately formed a world government known as the Earth Commonwealth. However, a number of pocket dictatorships that had sprung up during the ensuing chaos of the 2030s didn't want to fall in-line. As a result, military force was required, but none of the nations making up the Earth Commonwealth had any real military hardware to speak of.

At around this time, the Majestic Corporation, or Majestic Inc. stepped forward. With most of its resources secreted away in South America, the continent least effected by the Wars of 2030, the Majestic Corporation was in quite good shape. As a military contractor, the Majestic Corporation offered to supply the new world government with its hardware at-cost. The Earth Commonwealth agreed, and signed Majestic into being its primary military contractor.

Soon after, Majestic demonstrated a new type of weapon: the Walking Assault Vehicle, or WAV. A mech, the WAV was a very mobile weapons platform, able to cross even the most difficult of terrain with little difficulty. Over the years, improvements were made, and eventually the definition was changed to Walking Assault Vehicle Enhanced, or WAVE, due dramatic increases in armor, speed, mobility, and carrying capacity.

The Majestic Corporation also led the way in a number of other fields than just military hardward, including space exploration. Once out into space, the Earth Commonwealth changed its name to the Sol Commonwealth, in honor of mankind's monumentous achievement. Slowly, other contractors entered the military and WAVE-production fields, pushing Majestic out of its monopoly position.

Evidently, someone at Majestic didn't like this, as the company petitioned the Sol Commonwealth a number of times to stop other contractors from producing WAVEs, on the basis that the Walking Attack Vehicle Enhanced was copyrighted. The Sol Commonwealth ignored those petitions, as well as the veiled threats that followed. Finally, the Majestic Corporation delivered an unreasonable ultimatum: surrender the entirety of Mars to Majestic's direct control, or face the consequences. The president of the Sol Commonwealth responded to this demand by publicly condemning Majestic Corporation in his March 15th speech, and declaring them an outlaw state that would immediately surrender to government control or be siezed by force. The president was assassinated by sniper bullet at the end of his speech, and shortly thereafter Majestic launched its attack against Earth.
