I see the purpose neg rep has for critique purposes. However people tend to dish it out to anyone that doesn't share their exact same views or thoughts on a subject or discussion.

There seems to be little or no repsect for another mans (or womans) opinion. I've always been brought upto have respect for what other people think and when discussing it keeping in mind that fact when challenging their arguements. This doesn't appear to happen ever on the internet. I think mostly becuase of the fact the internet is so impersonal. It's just text on a page, there is no emotion or body language to read in the words.
