they arent trying to disprove god, thats the amusing thing about it.
only the die hard zealots who cannot grasp reason nor logic believe this, and see science as a threat to the imaginary world they have constructed in their minds and will become increasingly adversarial and indeed violent in some cases to protect it.

At best - science decreases the number of things which can be attributed solely to an existance of one since we can demonstrate the ability to do it ourselves or explain how it can be done.
It may take away from the grandeur of god, if there is one but it certainly doesnt force you to conclude the nonexistance of one.
