You forgot to mention how shit the southern coastal towns are (Margate, Bournemouth, et al). And the legions of Tories that occupy much of the South.

Although, I would say that quite a lot of the South (East) outside of London isn't that sparsely populated.

And I hear Cambridge / Oxford are reasonably nice although I'm not sure.
